Whose side are you on in Death Note?

Okay, of the main two characters (L and Kira) in Death Note, whose side do you take, and who do you hope wins in the end? (Note: if you take a side, it is assumed that you hope that character wins in the end.)

Some possibilites :
1. Out of date like Underdog said
2. Another L (Ryuuzaki) fan who still can't accept L is dead
3. Believes L (Ryuuzaki) will be revived later
4. Thinks L is a group so Nia and Mero are part of it

What i think might happen later:
1. Another Kira who is more evil will appear and Raito has to co-operate with Nia and Mero to capture him/her
2. Justice always win so the Kiras (even Raito) will be busted and executed
3. Raito goes to hell.
4. Misa finds a way to travel to the underworld in order to rescue Raito
5. Touched by Misa's love for Raito, the King of Shinigami decides to give Raito a chance and revives him
4. The King of Shinigami restores the world to before Ryuuku drop the Death Note (turn back time)
5. When Raito dies (maybe 70 years later?), King of Shinigami makes him a Shinigami and gives him the highest rank

People, I think Gabriel already knows what happened in chapters 61 and 62.

He just wants to know what was your hope then in chapters 1 to 60.

At least that is what I think he meant...

Anyway I will edit the poll to fit that idea since that is more logical.

With L dead now it kinda kills the storyline a bit.. perhaps that's why they jumped a couple of years so fast..

Well, I for once would have liked L to win, as I think Kira started okay, but later turned into a manipulative bastard. Oh, and btw, it was never assured that L died. I think so, since Kira could confirm it in Rem's notebook, but it was never shown to us... ;p

Oh, and about Kira's future, I think death note users become shinigamis Smile

L as in the original L.. well since it's already been posted this won't be much of a spoiler assuming you read up to recent.. I"m not sure how to get the completely white highlighted things.. so don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled.

I'm confident that the original L is dead. His superiors have basically confirmed it and have chosen another as his successor. Raito is currently manipulating the name so that the public believes the Kira vs L thing is still on.

My own theory is that while L (original) did die, he left something behind that will be extremely critical in the future that may expose Raito. He was pretty sure that it was him so.. *nod*

Secondly, I doubt Raito will go to hell. It's stated in the rules that he can't go to heaven or hell so what's left for him? Shinigami? I think it'd be interesting if L came back as a shinigami.. maybe he'd drop a death note as well. Not so much to kill Raito but to expose him.. for justice. He'd also have to consider the consequences that WILL occur but.. meh..

Initially, I did side with Raito. But I don't want the manga to end without him being caught. He deserves it.

I can't help but admire Raito. His forward-thinking, his planning, and his caution was incredibly admirable. If we were playing a DnD game, his character would be of the Pure Good alignment, where the end justifies the means, whatever the cost.

However, i do feel he did go too far. He's totally manipulating and taking advantage of poor Misa who idolises him and even half, no quartered her lifespan for him (i think she probably will die soon, cos if you half, then half that, and most people's lifespan is about 70-80). And the FBI agents and that poor girl who was trying to avenge her fiance - i thought that was the most heartwrenching moment when she walked away, obviously to die.

It's obvious human life has no value for him, just pawns in a plan. I guess he sees only the big picture.

All in all, i do identify with his wish for a better world, but two things: firstly, it is not ours to determine who is to die, be it an evil person or not, and secondly, no one person should hold that power alone.

Do i support L, then? Well, all things said, i guess i do.

I definitely hoped Raito wins in the end, afterall the manga started about him first.

i'm behind raito 100%.
the way he thinks and analysis situation is incredible. its true that some of the things he did was a bit cruel (FBI agent and fiancee)but in that case he was not aware of the whole situation untill it was too late. and it was survival of the fittest.
however i'm gonna miss it when L was alive .i mean the mental battles between them was intriguing.
maybe its because raito was introduced first but i'll be with him.

also,in the beginning ryuuk said that it doesn't matter how he (raito) spends his life ,what counts is what comes after he dies.(i wonder what that means.)
