I'm a staff of the site : http://keiichianimeforever.com (in fact I'm just a Mod of their boards, under the same nickname). They had an idea over there that could be used here as well : to create Fan Clubs.
How does this work?
Well, it require an Admin or two are in charge of this section (permanently, because it's really a LOT of work once it's launched). They create Forums, with an owner, moderators and such.
Fan Clubs makes their own rules (but do have to follow general ToS - except with the agreement of an administrator), make whatever they want about the thing they're fan of.
Note : some people could think that I'm asking to becoming administrator, but you've got plenty of good members that'd happy to help I think and I don't want that people start to think : another little newbie that want to become staff - I'm not asking anything like that - sorry if it was long but I wanted that make things clear from the beginning.
That's simple. A lot of work but it's simple. _________________ Regards, Riogi. Also know as the King of The Baka.
I don't really see the point in making these fanclubs on the site, cause on the forums people can discuss all sorts of things. And I think that if you have to make a forum for each fanclub it's gonna be pretty full when you click the forum link on the site. But that's just my opinion.

Creating a fan club for each anime, manga or game would definitely consume A LOT of time and space. As you can see, the admins here are already quite busy maintaining the site and it would be a hard to control the fan clubs section even if we appoint some members to become a moderator.
You can always create a topic in the Fan Works section and decide your own TOS. Then start your project like cosplay, art etc. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine.

Mikueru >> If I gave the link of the site I help, it wasn't for nothing. You could have checked there before You just have to create a "Fan Club" forum and to make subforums... I never said that the Fan Club Section should be a "New Category".
But the fact is that I don't remember if phpbb forums allow subforums (and it seems that the base of those boards are phpbb)
Lucifer >> Not at all. The biggest part in a forum is the Avatar Section. Posts counts are certainly doing a lot of things to save, but I don't think it would be THAT much heavy. And I never tell that Fan Clubs should be limited to Animes / Mangas!
And as I said, effectively, that would consume a lot of time... Well, you surely have some motivated members. That's not the point. And I don't intend to post anything into the Fan Art section lol I just gived an idea to improve the site, since it was really a good effect on KAF and that I think it could work for this site as well. That doesn't mean I intend on being a super active member. I mean I'll post, for sure, but I'm mod in two sites, and admin in two small (very small fry) sites. So whatever, I'm full of work.
Note : you're not needing to appoint global moderators on that section : each fan club make his own choices and ask to the Administrator in Charge who should be the Mod(s) for his forum. And to have "Small Moderation" like that allows also to see who can be a good candidate to "Global Moderation" by the way.
Well, whatever, the idea is here, the admins can read it and it's up to them. That's all. If more explanation are needed on how work the Fan Clubs into KAF, I'll answer to whatever question you may have.
PS : KAF = KeiichiAnimeForever, sorry. _________________ Regards, Riogi. Also know as the King of The Baka.
It's a nice idea but judging from the users on our forums, all of these Fanclub threads would just turn into SPAM-athon threads. We have plenty of these as it is.

Well, WE DO HAVE spammers also in our boards... (I started yesterday a war against them... So fun to delete spammed topics without thinking... )
Does that mean that you should reject an idea who would give fun to good members? But it's also your problem about not trusting your members : do you think that a good fan club owner whould accept spam???
I'm not responsible for who is registered in this boards. All I can do is to do my best and try to not make errors. That's how I see my contribution in boards where I've registered myself. _________________ Regards, Riogi. Also know as the King of The Baka.
