| Considering that there is no material from the manga left to justify another season and the fact that Toru Fujisawa-san himself is now deep in the Tokko world with Tokko: Devil's Awaken & Tokko: Phantom Hunter, I would dare say "No, there is no 2nd season of GTO." |

You must be kidding! There's enough material to make at least one if not two seasons... The GTO anime covers the manga up to volumes 1-13 or 14, then follow 11 more great volumes. If anything it's the ugly way that GTO got cut at the end that makes it hard to do a continuation.
On a side note I hate how this new project or Fujisawa starts. So far it's nothing as original as his previous work. Just boring zombie hunt with loads of cliches and designs that look like clones of various GTO characters.

Check out the manga, much of the best GTO stuff comes after the end of the anime.
http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?propertycode=GTO&categorycode=BMG
Volume 14: "The class trip to Okinawa has come to an end and everyone reflects upon their experiences. However, Miyabi will have none of it and continues her efforts to expel Onizuka by recruiting a very special former classmate to wreak havoc."
Not quite the way the anime ends When the anime ran out of material (that was in 2000, the manga finished in 2002) they just did a crappy version of the GTO live action ending and sent off poor Onizuka to the US |

I messed up there. But in relation to what you say, there's no manga material for them to make up a proper second season due to the hasty bad first season ending. Of course, they could come up with the most implausible of reasons and coincidences and mutate the material, but who would buy that... uh maybe some people will buy that...

Zombie hunt it is. Devil's Awaken has a possibly interesting plot. But Phantom Hunter just got me shaking my head. Of course all the characters look like GTO clones, its his art style .
A lot of mangakas have continued drawing in the same style that result in clone images throughout their work, e.g. Nobuyuki Anzai's MAR has many clones from Flame of Recca, MaRongCheng's TianXia (Chinese artist & manhua) characters retain a lot of characteristics from his previous famous work Chinese Hero. Even the Marvel cartoonists have created bunch of clones, e.g. the Todd MacFarlane years, Eric Larsen's X-Men/WildCats.
Of course, it does not help Fujisawa-san that his Phantom Hunter's lead male look 98% like Devil's Awaken lead male (2% account for hair colour difference) |

Well, the fact that they do it doesn't mean I have to like it It might be Fujisawa's style but these guys and gals are copied all the way up to the hairstyles and coloring. Even the main character looks exactly like Mayu from GTO.
The funny thing is that some chars not only look like their GTO counterparts but act like them. The best example is the Kanzaki Urumi clone (actually I can't complain too much about that since she is arguably the coolest chick in GTO ).
I hope Fujisawa won't be yet another mangaka who makes one great work and then fades
Anyway, I highly recommend that all you GTO fans to get your hands on the manga! There are some quite interesting developments and surprises ^_^ |

Does anybody have any concrete evidence or source about this supposed GTO2? The whole rumour story seems very fishy.
Btw I think that the only good way to do a GTO season 2 is to tell people that the last 2 episodes of season 1 are screwed up and just ignore them. |
