The manga finished this week over here. Midori No Hibi is over. I'm guessing that it will clock in at a total of 8 volumes and they will release the final one over here in Aug.-Sept.
This isn't really a big spoiler, but if you haven't seen the anime read no further. Otherwise it will be a big spoiler.. The following are also my thoughts on the ending of the manga so if you haven't read it all yet then there will be spoilers in there too.
You have been warned.
The Manga ending turns out almost exactly the same...
That said, if you have been following the manga after watching the TV series don't look for any bigger revolutions or anything in the manga. While I do feel that the manga still made the ending a little more enjoyable, it was kind of a bummer after having watched the anime to see it come out so closely. Maybe I would have preferred for the anime to simply wait for the manga to end, and then start airing, but I guess that way you lose ppl that have read the manga and already know the ending.
On the other hand, while the manga doesn't do much different from the anime here it still felt like it was presented better. (Ayase's proposal and the situation that followed, as opposed to it being all of 1 and a half minutes in the anime...) :P On top of that the emotions come out better through Kazurou's artwork.
I'll still take the manga over the anime any day, mainly because of the fun stuff they never bothered to put in (The crazy scientist stuff, the love hotel, Lucy, <her pep talk w/ Midori when she finds out about her was a nice little segment that really helped justify Midori's actions later> etc.) It will just be one of those endings where I wish I hadn’t watched the anime first, or I wish Kazurou-sensei would have make the anime folk end the TV series differently or he himself gone with a different ending.
Finally though, I do give him props for not dragging out the series like some mangas once they become popular. While there are some low points in the manga as well, having it run only 8 tanks makes it worth it to me and in the end I didn't get sick of the characters or really feel like the story was being drug out or anything.
So aside from having it turn out the way it did in the end, I would still highly recommend the Midori no Hibi manga. I know this series won't be one of the comics that I sell to the used manga shop before I leave Japan. It is coming home with me. ^_^ _________________ Mamonaku, san-bansen ni densha ga mairimasu. lol....its the same with almost all animes....the manga versions(if they have a manga version) are always better....and i feel more "involved" when reading mangas.
Well i read volume one of the manga and i think i'm gonna have to start reading this, i was looking at this b4 but i decided not to read it because the description was a little...scary _________________ Attached to her silhouette near me, to every moment of her tenderness, vaguely, I came back to the distant childhood,

The manga's license so you'll have difficulty finding direct downloads or on bittorent. You can try this link but i don't know if there's any seeds or peers.
