There is a formula that works and creators stick with it!
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is a great anime to show examples of your Scooby Doo theory! There is a "mech" world they visit and it is a parody on all mech anime, it's extremely funny because it's so true (anyone who has seen it will know what I mean).
There are very few completely original stories (can you think of something that hasn't been used as an anime story theme?! coz I can't).
It's no different to games, they might all have different titles, but an RPG is an RPG and a beat 'em up is simply that. This doesn't mean people are bored with it (how many Final Fantasy games are there?!!).

Your arguement would be like saying, if you've seen Sailor Moon, you don't need to watch any other magical girl anime. Or if you've seen Zeta Gundam, why watch any others etc etc.
How many times have you seen people ask for an anime to watch that is similar to insert title here.

There have also been anime trends. Take the mid 1990's as an example, there was The Slayers, Sorcerer Hunters, Maze, Sorcerer on the Rocks, Cyber Team in Akihabara, Haunted Junction, Sabre Marinette J (to name a few), watch them all and see the similarities! The animation style, the character design, the storylines etc. You can guarantee if you like one, you'll love them all.

So while you are right in saying most anime nowadays is similar to something else, it's not like it's a bad thing!

I think that when you have to write the script of hundres of episodes you gets lack of new ideas and turn into easy "all purpose" scripts (that ones than in some way you have see in other series) . The innovation in the plot of new series results sometime confuse to general audience: can be very well acepted by someone or misundertand by others: Sometimes it´s better to bet for a more secure value.

well ur ryt i guess i exagerated on dat one! Well not ALL anime. There are some with cool artwork and graphics, some with cool characters and drawings others with cool story plots. Ofcourse there are the opposite of this.

Well everythin anime is to anyones liking ryt?!

Hey, I resent a lot of post! I like Scooby-Doo and the artwork is good, just because it's not anime doesn't make it crappy and I wish people would stop thinking and saying stuff like that! Animation is animation, damn it!

Anyway, no, I disagree. I like Scooby-Doo and all but anime doesn't remind me of Scooby-oo by the slightest hint, not even Detective Conan.

ermm ya u are right... but not all of them are like that.
at least most of their plot is different & in between the stories have some funny comedy. for example, naruto. the story plot is interesting and there is 1 part where naruto & others trying to take out kakashi mask.

Eh, each to his own. Anime isn't everyone's cup of tea, but they certainly beat out most American cartoons...
