God naruto the series is as contraversial as the charecter portrayed. Not everone will like it and not a mojority will force it into uncoolness. My official stance on naruto(and i know your all just dying to read this) is while its entertaining ang while i do make it a point to watch the latest eps and such, as far as what its bringing to the table for the anime world, its not that good at all. I would call myself a fan. But when i look at it, i compare it a bit to harry potter. Terrable acting but you love it all the same. _________________ "Let them hate, so long as they fear"

Bah, bull, great acting is more like it. Come on, people loved DBZ (which went on forever and a day, just like Naruto seems to be doing) and it's acting was totally dumb, haha, and Naruto's acting is just slightly better than DBZ's. _________________ "Eat not the yellow snow"

For the record theres no real acting in naruto lol just voice acting. my unspecific reference was to the hp movies but with the exception of the 12 year old who catch the show weekly on cartoon network, does DBZ have any sort of respectable following.... Not by any seirious anime fans.
no naruto is not liscnesed..and just take the time to look for scanlations they are abundant. As to the main topic some parts of naruto did seem a bit dbzish though its seems to have gotten away for that. The only really extended nonsense was him learning to summon the frog..2 or 3 episodes a fight is not horrible the dbz fighs that lastd like 10 were way worse and a big reason why its not particulaly watched by anyone over the age of 12

I do admit that im surprised naruto isnt licensed. I mean like iv knon forever but still i guess it just musnt be HUGE in japan or no company want to take hold of the monster that naruto is. And for the record back when i was 12 and the DBZ guys would start powering up and that crazy music would play and it took like a whole ep just to get ready to fight...... naruto is indeed a good anime, but its not the best anime though still, i'm still wandering when will this anime will be licensed. I think it will be licensed when some part of the story is finished. So it have some "ending"
Hmmm...... I also think Naruto is pretty decent anime ard. I like it becoz of its loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggg storyline. Only to find out that my friends who have read the manga telling me what happens next......

Yes. I agree its one of the best around currently except i didnt really like the 1st 30+ eps the one with Haku and Zabusa although it at least brings out the main characters nicely.
Overall I rate it pretty high and I always recommend my other friends to watch it
its an old style of a loser going winner......but it sell anyways

wow, people sure like to repeat stuff, haha. suddenly everybody is saying "yea naruto's not the best but i like it anyway", or something along those lines.

since this has become more of a Naruto discussion thread, i'll just go ahead and post something as a response from the variety of past posts.
first of all, the recaps aren't that bad, considering that not everyone watches or reads episode after episode. it serves as a good reminder of what happened in the last episode, and though it may get tedius to have to watch recaps over and over again (assuming that those of who mentioned that watches several episodes at a time), it helps those of who don't watch regularly.
about the dialogues and flashbacks: i think dialogues are crucial in the making of a good anime. something like Cowboy Bebop proves that: the action isn't spectacular, if anyone's noticed. for the most part, it focused on dialogue regarding reflectionary philosophy, and generally, profound subjects. but it's still a favorite among anime-lovers.
although people generally think that action is what captivates naruto-fans, i personally think that it's the tragic tearjerking history behind every character in the series that's appealing; or, the endless dialogues and flashbacks, to put it simply. i'm sure no one would give a shit if they just see fighting all the time, with no character development at all. and that was what defined dragonball z, for the most part; a bunch of rugged musclemen, who never die (if they do, you see them in heaven as alive as ever), fighting each other over and over again, each fight lasting for a long period, because defeated characters just become more powerful and come back to defeat the other party, and vice versa.
after all, there'd be no appreciation for success without the tragedy, right? no one would admire naruto if he didn't start out to be a loser in the first place. _________________ ... perfectly ambiguous
You mention everyones now saying that its not good but they like it... not really, theres still narutotards out there and theres still folks who refuse to watch it. Also the recaps came up...OMFG.. ok a few every now and then might be you know refreshing for the plotline but cmon gimme a break.... theres way to many. To the point where it feels like im watching the same ep over and over. I swear if i ever see another rock lee flashback im just gonna.... well maybe ill just send and angry english email to the makers and oh well not a lot I can do but cmon its rediculous.
For me the Naruto manga was much better than the anime. I certainly doubt I've watched as much as the rest of you (I stoped at episode 12), but for me this series worked much better in the manga form.
