Well. My review for FMA is up in the reviews section ( shortcut ). A 7 / 10. Warning: Very long read. Should I run from the flames of the lovers of FMA the anime? Razz

I downloaded the FMA 51 episode thinking it was subbed by Shinsen & Sonchou and didn't see the 'Sucks' part till the download was well on its way to being complete. The anti Shinsen Sonchou group actually had pretty decent subbing from what I could tell...

With that being said, the ending seems to be almost a cop out to me. Things just resolved itself too fast in my opinion. But the resolution is alright, the credits part where everyone goes on their way. That was done alright in my opinion.

I didn't like the 'alternate Earth' history part they just decided to add in. The moment they tied FMA to our world, it sort of lost that fantasy dream touch to the series and it became a really bad science fiction story.

I really hope the manga does not follow the same route or makes a much better impression of it than sticking random famous historical people's names around. It just seems they tried to make everything work in a few episodes and nothing was really explained.

TV episode 25/26 of Neon Genesis Evangelion comes to mind. Hopefully the movie will be just as great as End of Evangelion.

yeah, i woulda expected the shinsen subs suck subs to be pretty good - when i joined their irc chan to get the file it was full of ANBU bots who seemed to suddenly all get re-named after 5-10 mins... Rolling Eyes

Just finished watching the last episode, and even though I didn't like some of the things they did with the series overall, I did appreciate the ending a little more than others might've.

Take the critism of having the main bad guy (Dante) not being a part of a big showdown with Ed/Al. What I saw is Dante getting exactly what she had coming to her since she started up all her crap. Ed had another, more important battle to fight, and Dante got herself trapped or eaten as a result of her screwing with life. It was her own creation that had her resorting to a desperate action that probably left her in a state that she's less than happy about, probably something worse than her own death.

And the writers may have left the Dante/Gluttony thing so open because they're planning on using the two of them again somehow, maybe in the movie. The same goes for Wrath and Envy.

The moral being presented in the ending, as I see it, is what comes around, goes around. What we do will come back to us someday, so ultimately, we have to pay a price for what we may or may not have done.

I'm probably just puting more into it than there really is, but that sits well enough with me to leave it alone at that.

Ep 51 left a lot to be desired, but I think that was the point and purpose. It has an incredibly bittersweet, but open, appeal to it, and I think the guys in charge are going to use that to help fuel interest into the movie and any possible future OAVs. The series had a conclusion, just not a very satisfying one, so it's far from being completely over yet. Maybe that's where the movie comes in.

another wretched anime ending, but i kinda expected it way back at mid season, and wasnt really expecting too much.

i wonder wat the movie's gonna be about tho, hopefully its not gonna be a lame story about how ed/al reunites, cuz that would blow majorly.

I suppose I liked the ending, although it was not what I expected and it left so many questions! Like what happened to Envy?!? He was my fav. character!yeah, I know, why him, but I have this tendency to like a character and not know why^-^

hmm... the ending of FMA for me had mix feeling. A part of me is satisfied and another part of me is not satisfied. bah overall enjoyed the series a lot Wink

I liked FMA until episode 48, it was building to an exciting finish and the story was going from strength to strength.

However when they shifted focus suddenly to Europe, I felt they had lost focus. Did not like it at all.

And the ending for episode 51, is way to neat for the all stuff that had been going on up till then.

i finally fishised watching this show, and the way it ended it doesnt bother me because this is one of the better anime out there, also watching the last ep i think i know what the movie will be about. Its going to be about both brother trying to be in the same world whether its where Al is or beyond the gate where elric is
