winry is starting to be my fav character
but the thing about 26 is that i thought in ep 25's preview for 26, i heard something like "Ed: i never knew someone thought of me that way" .... i thought there was going to be some major romance element here.. |

Well... when someone is trying very hard to make you feel comfortable and not too sad. When they do their utmost hoping that you will not feel self-pity or despondent. Doesn't that say how important you are?
I feel they are making Edward discover that Winry treats him better than others. Whether it is a set up for something horrible later or to introduce a shounen romance (not shoujou!), we can only view the later episodes.

True, I wasn't particularly pleased either. But upon rethinking, I thought that it is a typical stunt of females. A "test" on guys. Regardless she got what she wanted. That Edward does value her Automail and regards it as the best. Girls... (oops... )
Heh... the Elrics are going to have sore heads, bodies and asses for quite a few of the future episodes now |

Ok, so I have become a big fan of the manga (Especially after reading the 7th tank) but have had no real issues with the anime story going off on its own little trail. Until now. Maybe I am still pissed that there were a bunch of guys watching the TV and I couldn't catch my once a week TV show or something.
Maybe it was the fact that for some reason the OP animation seems to get better but the music seems to get worse as they go by. I fear for the 4th OP theme right now.
Though Yebyosh puts up some good statements about the episode I still feel that this turned into a budget cop out where you show some running as opposed to having a cool chase scene w/ the alchemy involved...
I guess this episode also turned me off a bit to Winry's character portrayal here in the anime. (Maybe the lame ED theme and blatant fan-service of the 3rd ED has something to do with that as well... No where near as cool as the emotion that the first two ED brought out.) for some reason I am just getting the feeling that she is a little to haughty and forceful for my tastes.
That and Al doesn't do a freakin' thing the whole ep. We need more Al action (Even if he is just sketching out some quick alchemy stuff or something) after his pity party days.
I am starting to feel that things that they were able to pull off earlier are starting to come back and haunt them now. (The whole baby delivery scene so early and nothing happening here as opposed to the visa-versa of the manga)
In the end the one highlight was Roy and Riza making their stand, which seems to be lending itself to more tension and excitement than I get from the manga. Looking forward to seeing how things develop here.
None the less should be interesting to see the way they handle the Sensei story. |

The OP animation was coo, the song... not so coo. I prefered the second OP. Anyway the ep was ok. I didn't like Winry's stunt either, in fact it was retarded. She got angry because Ed used alchemy instead of the strength of her automail and so planned some pointlessness. GOODNESS.
Well the high note of the ep was Mustang's ambition. Interested to see how that turns out.
Where do u guy's get your manga scans? I can only get up to chapter 16. _________________ [IMG:508:164:6c8e3c695e]http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p252/inqArk/Original_sig.jpg[/img:6c8e3c695e] |

Me? I'm still waiting for the official licensed Chinese versions if and when they do come. But right now shoring me up are the Chinese scanlates (Chp 33 just released) |

As Specky had said, it seemed that by adapting later manga material for the earlier anime sequences, the series seemed to have weakened now. There is now a spot of incongruity (at least in my opinion) introduced in regards to when Edward can perform his circleless alchemy. We shall see how they are going to resolve this.
But otherwise ep27 is a faithful adapation of the manga story at that point (besides an event which shifted in chronology & how and why sensei & disciples actually meet). Entertaining episode still.
And soon they shall show the Truth! |

Looks like the anime is trying hard to force Winry down our throats though... First they introduced her way too early, included her story early as well, put her picture in just about everything... And they even included her in this arc (wasn't she supposed to get left behind?). (Heh but I'm not really complaining)
Funny that Riza Hawkeye still keeps beating her in popularity polls though... lol. |

What do you expect from a girl who keeps falling asleep in class, as well as forgeting a bolt when fixing up Ed's arm?

This anime deserves a bump.
So here's a tidbit...
Looking at the manga & anime, what art style would you classify it as? Shounen?
Not a spoiler, just hiding a revelation
Yes, the story so far has been shounen & a lot of the artwork seems to be in the shounen style. But Hiromu Arakawa is a woman...
You can see some of her renditions of Ed is reminiscent of the traditional shoujou styles.
At least she has not gone down the deep end of the typical shoujou stories.
Go go shounen style! |

Well, I agree that the art-style is pretty shounen.
Though I've always been aware of some feminine touches here, such as the SD faces which looks distinctively shoujo.
Of course, females have been designing shounen-style characters before, and vice-versa, so I guess it's no biggie...
