Well at least the part about being in Japan is correct anyway... ^^; As for the knowing Japanese... Um, well, at least I can say I am trying... :P <Runs off to double check pre-order status for CLANNAD, my next Japanese tutor...> ^_-
Ep. 28 sucked. Really. Bad. Very. Or as the "hip" Japanese youth might say, "CHYO warukatta."
They simply destroyed the entire island adventure. I am rapidly losing hope for the series now... Really.
As for the Riza Vs. Winry that darkhunger mentioned, that is coming from the Newtype standings I believe. She wan't even in the top 30 in the Animage polls last month. (Riza was at 12)
They need to figure out that the pushy Naru type girl is not as popular right now in Japan. (That seems to be how they are treating Winry to me anyway) Even the lead character in Akamatsu's own manga (Basically another Naru really) is falling to second place in all the character polls... I'm interested to see if Midori pops up in next months polls...
But back to FMA... Manga was handled MUCH better... Urge...to....hate....Bones.....rising...........rising............ |

I am still reserving my thoughts for the post-Hughes anime. This could be a slump for the anime but for how long, that is the question. The anime have almost caught up to the manga but it is likely this was drawn a month ago. So they had to plan ahead and this youth was it...
Anyway we need some joy and happiness here so... courtesy of Hiromu-san
Apologies for the bad quality. I had to enlarge the gif for the words to be readable...
And, Keitarou... Shoumama is not a proper Japanese word but if as a broken language, you get Young Mother...
Shounenjou (Young Boy-Girl) would be a for all sexes |

Well Yebyosh, if nothing else at least they delve into the "Truth" that you are always talking about. ^_- The only problem is again, it seemed a lot less time was spent on it than it should have gotten...
regardless of that factor though things are heating up again and seeming to be heading away from the manga too. (I'm starting to think that might be a good thing seeing as of late they haven't really done a very good job of getting the manga stuff to fit correctly.) In the end that boy is going to turn out to be something pretty big it seems after all. They sure left it on a nice cliffhanger too...
Just in time too... Was really worried. So if you are interested to see where things are headed as far as away from the manga goes then you are in luck. If you are looking for a page for page follow through you're not going to get it here. (or at least not as far as I have read anyway.
P.S. I am only up to chapter 29 of the manga myself. <end of tank 7> I like hagaren but not enough to go throwing down for Shounen Gangan every month. Especially if there isn't anything interesting in the rest of the book. I can wait. (Kyohiko Azuma and Masayuki Takano have me quite hooked on Dengeki Daioh and that is more than enough "phone book" manga for me.) :P |

Just watched episode 29 today. The plot is just delving deeper and deeper. I like a lot =)
I wanna see more... waiting sucks.
How many Hommuculus (sp?) are there? Just three or much more?
I have a feeling a few more people will die in the next ep. _________________

There are 6 Confirmed Homunculi in the manga.
However since they take the names of the 7 Sins, the current assumption now is that there are 7 Homunculi as well.
In the anime, only 5 are confirmed.
I do like them moving more into the Truth and such. I don't mind them moving away from the manga. The current premise seems interesting. But I see some potential plot holes looming... (which scares me).
But then I do prefer the manga *heh heh* |

Too slow for The speedy Yebyosh, but none the less still some little tidbits in there...

The Homunculus seem to be following a pretty apparent pattern so far. Right now we have Lust, Envy, Gluttony and the maybe-not-so-introduced-in-the-anime-as-of-yet Greed as well. If you get the picture then there could very well be more based off the rest of the seven deadly sins. (We all saw Seven didn't we? Great flick IMO.) ^_^ As for the symbol on the body parts that each Homunculus has, that would be the Ouroboros. (See link).
Ouroboros : http://abacus.best.vwh.net/oro/ouroboros.html
As for the Homunculus, I believe I have it translated correctly here as this is how the dictionary has it written as well as as TV Asahi in their fantasy section. ( http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~QI3M-OONK/tosyokan/fantasy/w-homunculus.htm ) The manga reads it as 人造人間 meaning artificial, synthetic or imitation human. The dictionary term is a little different but I still think this is the correct spelling, regardless of what the subs are saying. (I don't really have subs to go on to say here... :P Of course come to think of it WHAT the homunculus are wasn't really the question either huh? Oh well. |

Cool. Episode 30 confirmed a lot of things now. But I think we have the 7 Sins or Homunculus working against eachother. Fuhrer is probably that Envy chick and the Homunculus guy being another faction + the military and then Sensei.
Things are really heating up. I can't believe she started coughing just when she was going to say why Homunculus were born... hehe
Does anyone else think Lt Col. Archer looks like the guy in Big-O?
Great episode. More! _________________

Actually I'm getting slightly disappointed. With the influx of the new Homunculi, they made the concept of the Sins cheap... Probably Ed can go somewhere, slot in a coin and out pops a Homuculi. They seem to be increasing the pace of the action to deaden any analysis of the plot they are panning out.
There are a couple of things that I notice that show they might have a deeper undercurrent to all the things running around. But so far almost everyone (on other boards) seems to be talking about "Oh whose big balls will crush who!" and "Ooo I wanna see him cream him till he groans and moans" instead of noting these little plot details. Of course the yuri-minded boards were more going "Oh no don't scratch his lil tutu..."

Can't say I feel bad about wanting the action though. If I want story I'll read the manga. :P No matter what it is going to end better anyway I figure...
As for the Truth and Sins that have been revealed Ep. 31 really sets up some interesting stuff. Seems like the Elric brothers aren't the only ones that have done some pretty bad sinning... I myself like how they have been handling the way things are moving and there is plenty of revealing stuff that plays out in this episode as well. There is more to that boy than being a simple Homunculus... Ouch. Truth hurts...
On top of that I am enjoying having Kimberly back, (even if he really hasn't done much...) where the manga introduced him and hasn't really gone anywhere with him as far as I have seen. Is the anime perfect? Maybe not but it has sure become enjoyable again for me. Lots of stuff is coming out and being revealed and they still haven't really had a re-hash the anime episode either.
Looking forward to next weeks ep. |

I just saw the screencaps at http://wgalland.hp.infoseek.co.jp
He said something about the last part being scary. So is there going to be another gory scene like Episode 1?
Looks like my theory of anime Wrath being the new kid is about to be proven true or false. |

Well crap.
I just got my June issue of Newtype. Spoilers all over the place... Of course half of it was stuff I'd known from reading the manga... Oh well...
And is it just me (No this isn't a spoiler from Newtype, this is jsut me being curious...) or does that lady that is working the desk for Bradly (And turns up in this last ep. as well...) look an awful lot like Ed and Al's Mom or am I just crazy?
Happy Mom...
Pissed off about too much deskwork?
Though I guess the hair styles are a LITTLE different... Oh well. |
