which manga character do u feel sorry for the most?? i think it shinji from the evangelion series

I would disagree with people who said Shinji because in my reasoning, he did not act maturely enough to handle a lot of the situations that caused him harm and misery, and plus since the manga is not enough done, it is very difficult to tell which universe in which he resides - a dream influenced by playing too much video games? Or the real world? Who knows? Yoshiyuki Sadamoto may be more messed up than Hideaki Anno, but I can tell that it is more of a problem with stress than an all too intense understanding of science or psychology. I say don't feel sorry for the child who is left after a tumble to lift him or herself up because a mother would not pick up her child.

Haku, from Naruto, has the greatest tragedy out of characters that I have seen, perhaps, from what I have read. If the manga of Kenshin deals with the story line from the OVA, especially the 3rd one, than I would say that it would be Kenshin. But speaking on what I know, Haku possesses the deepest pain from many anime character. His love towards Zaku is very hollow, but unfortunately, his situation of being an orphan and being adopted by a blood tristy and power hungry demon, well, it happens too often in real life to mention each case. To truly love oneself, an individual must love his or her uniqueness and accept that the self will not return whether this lost affects others in a negative way or not be a major concern to a great portion of the population. In the end, Haku scarified Zaku because Haku wished more than anything to live by his own understanding of life. There were countless times that Haku would have killed Kakashi and his squad if he truly desired to be Zabuza's tool; his self love would not have that proceed his happiness. Haku died and threw away the life of the only person who said that he needed him.

But honestly, I see what I have wrote could lead others to think the two statements about two characters are paradoxical. Sadly, my brain works twice as fast as others but comes to two different conclusions.

It's just preference; I understand.

The protagonist from GirlSaurus (I forgot a name... AGAIN). Gynophobia is a really sad condition. The poor kid is simply denaturalized, end of story. Sure, there are many characters with pasts one thousand and one times more tragic than his, but bear with me, I just tried to remember ANYBODY I pitied from a manga, and he was the first one that came to mind.

i agree that shinji is on top of the list,but there's also one more: MISA and L from DeathNote.Read the manga and you will know why.

well .. i agree with everyone =D and i say the sohma family too T--T... just so sad... akira's so evil >=[ grrrr he used to torture yuki !! which is really sad and momiji too and omg the doctor guy !! who had to erase his lover's memories... cuz of akira... STUPID AKIRA
