nice artwork crappy plot or vice versa

have any of you read mangas that have really crappy (boring or repetitive or pointless.. etc) but with nice drawings or the other way around. Ugly drawings but really good plot? good enough to keep you on the manga enough though the art is bad?

So far, I have read mangas that look good and has a good plot . I look at some mangas and flip through, if it looks messy, I skip it. I saw the Anime for Hellsing and liked it, so went to check out the manga, but its sooo messy and I said, egh, skip it. Whyoh why do I have to base a manga on looks?!

ya i only like to read mangas that hav both good art and plot
i just cant stand mangas that r missin one of these elements

mai hime i guess is a little off the plot side although the art work is amazing

I agree, the anime of hellsing looked pretty poor but was enjoyable none the less, as opposed to the manga which is just awesome all around.

I quite liked the anime Noir, pretty simple drawing style, minimal animation, but somehow it was just very nice and pleasant to watch. I don't know if thats what the original poster ment tho.

I'm not sure that Hellsing has "bad" art... it just isn't great. ^^

Some stories have good art and no plot, but aren't bad mangas... like... Excel Saga (though it seems to be developing a plot).


Other manga, like Monster, are the type that I prefer. Good art, incredibly well-written story, likeable characters, etc. I tend to ignore the plotless manga (unless it's that way for a good reason) and the manga that have bad artwork.


No matter how good one aspect is, if the other one is horrible, I can't really take it. =/
