And when I say Punk music, I mean real punk music, the old, bash the governement and pretest songs, not the pop punk crap that MTV shows.
I've listened to Punk for some years now, and it has had a great influence on my political beliefs. It's thanks to punk, that I believe in Anarchy, and left-wing idea's and beliefs.
Punk stands for something, and that's what I like about punk. It a way of telling someone what you think.
Some good punk bands:
Rise Against
The Misfits
Boy Sets Fire
Strike Anywhere
Minor Threat
Black Flag _________________

believe in anarchy or not but you can do much more damage when working with the system trying to break it, than believing in total anarchy and not being able to doanything besides riots and other useless crap
but I do love PUNK
here is some bands that I listen to:
Rancid
Dropkick Murphys
Alkaline Trio
Bad Religion
AFI
36 crazy fists
At the drive in (are they considered punk? either way they are really good)
Distillers
Guttermouth
NOFX
Millencolin
Operation Ivy
Pennywise
few that were already mentioned here
and bunch of Polish punk that I will not list since most people here won't understand what they are singing |

I HOPE AVRIL LAVINGE DOESN'T REPRESENT PUNK ROCK.
If so I really hate punk rock.
I didn't enjoy A system of Down much either. |

Idjota, You listed some pretty good bands!
You heard the new Millencollin album yet? I believe it's Kingwood or something..
@Loveless: Avril Lavinge represents poser punk.. she has completely nothing to do with real punk..
and SoaD isn't a punk band, they're more rock/metal, as Idjota said. |

well i've listened to the new millencolin cd, it doesn't seem to be as much fun as the previous ones with bunch of energetic songs but its still good
and lest stop talking about avril, though she might look like a punk (and she looks good ^_^ ) but she sings pop music |

Green Day = preepie pousers
Offspring are more alternative rock than punk but still good
AFI sucks
Alkiline trio sucks
Pennywise sucks
goldfinger, not even punk
Avril Lavigne sucks preppie pouser
Clash and operation ivy are good
Thats just the bands mentioned, i like the dead kennedys, circle jerks, casualties, the unseen, ramones, lower class brats, cheap sex, rage against the machine. rancid, the exploited, a global threat, the vandals, bad religion
ats' a short list of the bands i like i am an raging anarchist. and despite popular opinion we can do more than riot, there is a possibility of uniting... wait, thats kind of an oxymoron, well whatever, fight the system and all that cal. by the way, the band Against Me! also sucks |
