my favorite media player is zoom player. u can pause, play multiple files, skip ahead or behind with a keyboard button, and get the control bar up really easy. also seems to play files with troubles better than wmp. and u can change the aspect ratio easy.
does anyone else have a favorite? i'm always looking for something better.....

It's winamp classic for me, or media player 6. Here in linux it's a pain to get anything video-wise to work properly but I really like xmms for music and I'd also really like totem if it didn't crash on playing a file :p

I have all kinds of players on my computer. I use DivX where Windows Media doesn't work--such as in the case of being able to hear the sound but unable to see any images. I also have VivTV for some of the older movies I have, Real Player for some other old movies, and then there's PowerDVD as my DVD player. I used to have VLC, which really worked well for nearly any video but for some reason it didn't sit too well with my Windows Media Player so I had to uninstall. Anyways, my favorite is Windows Media Player Series 9. I use it for just about everything and when it doesn't work I jump to using one of the others. Cool

I usually use winamp and DivX ^^; I very occasionally use WMP... I used to use WMP very often, just so I could save music... but suddenly I can't do that, so... I don't use it as much XD;

for musical needs, winamp all the way. video files are usually handled by BSPlayer, but dvd rips and such are played with mplayer classic or windows media player classic.

I use WMP. Though it goes without saying that there are a million other good players, I can't seem to get used to them, especially Winamp.

I use Media Player Classic for my videos. This thing plays everything from avi, divx, mkv, ogm, so far anything I need to play video wise it plays. It also has some little things like you can pause and save the image. The only down side I can think of is that it is not pretty compared to other players. But I’ll choose performance over aesthetics this time. I like it because I don’t need to jump from one player to another to see which will play. I have always hated having to do that until I got this player. And that’s why Media Player Classic is the best! Ok I’m done plugging my media player. It's all about the open source ^^ *Goes back to sleep*

heh, I prefer mpc precisely because it's not pretty. Modern mp is an absolute pain to do anything with. I don't know who designed it but I just can't imagine what he was thinking. Mpc is intuitive and that's what I like about it.

Realone player is pure evil, imo. Someone once compared it to installing a virus on your computer and I can't say I disagree. Real Player 10 for linux is really nice, though so I hope it's a sign of things to come. Meanwhile use the real alternative player based on mpc. There's a mozilla/firefox plugin as well so that you can use online media players.

Media Player Classic for me. It works perfectly fine with everything, lighter on resources and already installed with windows.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Razz
