| it won't fry, i think, but if you don't pass the minimum requirements then those programs/games should not be able to run |

It won't fry, there are a few possibilities.
1: Most probably, it won't start.
2: If it starts, then it will freeze.
3: Very rarely, it will run, slide show style. |

Most probably it wouldn't even have the chance to fry, 'cos it shouldn't be able to start if your desktop don't meet the requirements
Perhaps it'll load... but after 15mins++... it will still be loading...
Even if it succeeds in loading, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience for either party. Nobody fancies spending a huge amount of time waiting for their games to load. Not you, and defnitely not your opponents either. Just my two-cents

I wont fry.
I dont even think you can fry a 266mhz computer :S
Mine 200mhz can almost run without a fan.
Anyways. If you run a game with min specs like 1ghz, you computer will still not fry. No computer will. The only reason for the "minimum specs" are to insure you get a good gaming experience (30+ frames per second) (eg. a playable game) |

I would be rather impressed if you can overheat your PC. On a PC of that speed you probably won't even need a fan driven cooler.
If you can get a new PC I would advise that you do. What you are running is getting pretty ancient. |

| No computer can really fry (the whole thing anyway) if you overclock the processor or something you might shoot it or something but I think the closest thing to frying your comp would be to overvolt the rails which in turn would short your mobo blow your processor and other crap if the rail Flutzes over so no you can't lol |

it's impossible to fry your pc, since older/slower chips are more resistant compared to the newer ones (since older chips were manufactured using bigger core process).
however not stripping after walking in carpeted room and touching the "naked" parts of your chip will, sadly. those static charges are absolutely troubling.
but isn't it impossible to run programs that are intended for 800Mhz on a 200Mhz systems? saying you could is just absurd. |
