While this isn't really fresh news or anything as it was also reported in last months Newtype, I still must admit that I am interested to see how it turns out.

2004 has been a really busy year for the anime industry on the silver screen and hopefully having Air turned into a movie will make it big enough to finally catch the American anime companies eyes (and maybe some of the more casual fans as well) and get them realizing that dating sims are more than just pretty graphics, or straight up porn. (Though Sakura Taisen has gone a long way in helping push that "not all dating sims are hentai" perspective in the US through very limited exposure thus far anyway...)

There are great stories to be had as well.

For those not up to speed on Air, it was a "Visual Novel"/dating sim created by Key (Visual Arts) the fine folks responsible for the insanely popular (In Japan) Kannon game that spawned a TV anime series and multiple manga, doujin, spin-offs, parodies, merchandise, etc. As well as the recently released CLANNAD. (Which I am currently neck deep in and would be enjoying much more if I wasn't so damn busy w/ school.)

That and having it be a movie this time as opposed to a TV series means that hopefully the animation quality will be top notch. (While it still will have a hard time matching the in game stills, I still see this as a nice step up from Kannon which while good did suffer from the TV budget animation restraints.)

Looking forward to this one. (Too bad I'll more than likely be back in the States before it releases...)

Doublepostyeah!

Just saw the Triad Trailer... Looking like it has the potential to turn into a very interesting story. (Knowing Key anyway and the way they weave a tale.)

Anyone looking for a good love story/drama should keep this one in mind.

(Though I was kind of disappointed that Triad was too lazy to translate the song at the end... Not like it hasn't been around for a while or anything. I mean that is back on the 2nd I’ve Compilation even and they are up to 5 now.)

so what AIR stands for ? or is it the word that they intended to form for the title of this anime?

AIR's pretty cool... the animation is really good... though the old fashioned animation isn't that bad..... if the story's good... *cough* gto... *cough*.. anyways... off subject... I love the outfits in AIR ... i wanna cosplay now... lol!...

So it's only going to be a movie, I was hoping it'll be a series (more detailed than the Kanon anime), I was so happied when I saw the preview. so disappointed Crying or Very sad

First ep was just released by koi. 5% and ill keep you posted about whats up. I think itll be a good one to follow seeing as i think the review page which was quite unfilled said only 12 eps.

just watched the first episode...I seriously hope it gets better than that Sad

. the animation is great but the story hasnt been explained yet.

well, it was the first ep, mainly char introduction and not so much on plot/story yet

it does have the kanon feel of it and hope it'll follow through cuz the animation is simple amazing

Agreed, the animation is wonderful, and it was the first episode so it's a introduction. The anime is based off the game, which is japanese and is impossible to understand unless your fluent in japanese.

Im having trouble with the first ep. It's a bit different from like all the other series ive ever seen. So many questions. And cmon whats with the pikachu dog.... whats with the wierd girls and how come thereve been like 7 chicks but only one dude.. dont get me wrong i like those odds but... heh its just messing with me right now. Im quite anxious to see this next ep
