the Movie was also great but compared to the series...they have different oucomes and different ebdings but not too far away fro each other. and it's much more brutal than the series.
but basically...they're the same in general. It kinda shows more on how the two loved each other. _________________ PS3 Trophies

I think there were 2 big differentials to be considered here.
In the animated series, Yukito gave his life for Misuzu so that she could be free from the curse of the winged being. He showed his affection that way for her.
In the movie, Yukito remained by Misuzu's side til' the very end. Even though he couldn't dissipate his feelings for her, he returned by her side and granted Misuzu's desired goal.
Well in anycase, AIR is a powerful series indeed. Through the movie and the series, it made tears in my eyes so it left a pretty damn good impression.
Bleh havent posted on this forums for a while, all i have to say is.....
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.................
I am curently watching the movie right now and i am disgusted...Misuzu looks so differnent, i was like "who dat?". In fact every in the movie looks different from the anime. I just started the movie so i don't know which one is better yet, just posting to release my feelings about how ugly and different the characters look from the anime. _________________ gallery

its hard to explain.. so i think u should just watch the anime over again =P
and notice the guy with the sword in the past got slash in the back.. and also how michiru was at the dinner table. maybe that girl's (4got name) mother was her mother and she was finally able to talk to her mother and she disappear? meh

Michiru did disappear in the end because she was just a dream. Minagi never had a little sister because of her parents divorcing, so this provided to be a comfort for Minagi. Michiru disappeared in the end because she knew that no matter how much Michiru was there, Minagi wouldn't be satisfied. In the end, Minagi went to her fathers down in some other region of Japan, and we see Michiru as Minagi's cousin (supposedly). Yukito got slashed in the back because he was the reincarnation of Ryuuya. Remember when Ryuuya was fending off those guards near where Kanna's mother was? The battle that ensued there had Ryuuya take out all those guards single-handedly but without killing them. As a result, he was slashed in the back and the scar remains on Yukito because of that.

Minagi YES have a little sister, but she dead unborn. So, Maybe this Michiru is that Michiru embodied by the power of Kana´s feathers.
And. Wah, Michiru vanished because her mission was completed. Her mission was to stay on the side of Minagi, and let Minagi be hersefl, remember that the mother was seeing Minagi as Michiru.
Later we see that Minagi travels to see her father, and the little Michiru is the stepsister of Minagi.
I see the Movie of Air....waaah...nice... the new Misuzu is really nice too... I like the movie a lot. Its not better or worse that the series, its different. _________________

omg i had to take this all in one night
i watched the 13 episodes, 2 summer special, the movie all in one night and next morning. jesus chirst, i cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried at the end of movie and tv series.
i downloaded this because it said romance, (i didn't see the drama(which i later saw was next to it)). i thought this was gonna be a girl getting attempt (romantic comedy way(like ichigo 100%))
i watched this three times over a couple of days and started to clam down, because it was meant to be.

thanks geburah u explained a lot
(if i didn't get these questions answered, i would have worried for life)

In my opinion all follows a cycle of reincarnations that started with Ryujii and Kanna 1000 summers ago. In his life as Yukito almost managed to reach her but he realized too late so he was reborn as a crow. Why? If you remember the summer arc (its summer, isnt it? i dont remember, the samurai era Im speaking about) they talked about Kanna spirit. They said that her spirit as a winged one was too powerful to stay in a human body and this could break her. Kanna was filled of saddnes, and if in her life as Mizusu she didnt experience true happiness, her spirit could finally vanish. Thats why Yukito choose to be by her side even if his time as human ended, to try to aid her (remember when Mizusu were almost to give up and Yukito spirit appeared and encouraged her). In the next life of Yukito/Ryujii and Mizuzu/Kanna, they are a little children but Yukito remember his past life and see his old self sitting and near him Mizusu the day they met meaning perhaps that in that life he will be able to reach Kanna finally.
This is the same as the crow reincarnation: It seems that you dont have to reincarnate in a being born after you die, you can reborn even as a being that exist when your old self is still alive
Quote:
The cycle of reincarnations tends to be in any time, but remember: Until Yukito used his magic to help Mizuno, he can only reborn in his descendants since Ryujii/Yukito will were passed to his child. In this point, he is able to reborn same as Kanna/Mizusu (it doesn't matter time or even creature it seems).
Mizusu end was foreordained since Yukito pointed that when she has her last dream, then she will die but she needed to find happiness to avoid breaking completely. Remember the feathers? They are probably parts of Kanna's will/spirit separated to her due probably to her spirit being too huge to be contained in a human body and were so powerful that affected other people's lifes. That way she can survive but shes breaking more and more for each feather she loses (Yukito managed to return these feathers to the sky the they will go back to Kanna again,Tsubasa, Reservoir Chronicles is based too in this theme)
And about their life as children playing in the sand the same time that Yukito and Mizusu meet, is obvious that they are a future reincarnation, but probably they arent the next reincarnation of Yukito and Mizusu, they probably reincarnated many times more before reaching that point (remember when the little boy recover his memory seeing to the sea, perhaps is a power(remember the former lifes) herited from Yukito's family since the girl/Kanna/Mizusu didnt remember, at least not yet) and they probably are not the next reincarnation of both
this explanation helped me so much.
summary (the kids in the end are kanna and ryuua)
T_T (finally made sense)

I know I might be late... but this series... well at first, I looked down on drama types of anime but now after watching all of the episodes changed my view. My glasses kept getting droplets of tears and had to wipe it every 5 seconds. Ive never cried this much since... forever.
