How good should a good anime character be?

THe ultimate good guy is obviously Vash the Stampede. I mean, he kills only one person in his hundred and odd life hood. Even when he does kill that one person, it is forced upon him. He even forgives horrible brother(I mean honestly, how many of us can say we wuld forgive a brother who killed hundreds of innocent people.). So there you go, Vash the best, he so cool.

If you ask me i think athrun zala is those people that is an hero yet fill with flaws, i mean there is always few people in society that is elite in society and treated like hero. For Athrun, his flaw is that he is just too kind

i LUV watching a couple of characters that just don't give a sh!t squirm and struggle in the plot, as everything they care about goes away, etc......

Someone realistic, so that you can understand where he's coming from. He's not too arrogant or spoiled, and follows some set of morals. But like you've mentioned, the flawed characters are the ones with spice in them. Strngth is always a plus, and he must be cool and ...look cool ...and sound cool...and have pretty color eyes...

Just for the heck of it, lets bring the topic around to religion. Should good characters have a religion or at least a moral philosophy? And honor code perhaps.

More to the point, if a good character is not always good, should there be an atonement, a way of making up for it? Should there be a confessional, where they tell someone significant the bad things they did in their mysterious past, someone they have wronged? Its always dramatic when a Superman lets their Lois Lane get to know the man (or woman) behind the mask, but that whole thing with Clark Kent and the glasses was just stupid:

there are heroines, but yea in most animes there's always a hero....or a heroine and a hero...but obviously the hero is more of the main character.

anyways...i think a "good" character should have their flaws....no1 is perfect.......but there are many characters that are near perfect which is pretty good. personally i like evil or cold hearted characters that turn good throughout the series, thus showing character growth/ development.

i h8 characters that are too good....and act all gay and happy like..kinda annoying...like they have no troubles wat so ever. so care free it makes me sick...cuz i envy them!..lol

the problem with acting all happy and chipper, is it takes away alot of the suspense and drama, so there is a lot less emotion.
