i only got as far as the french competition thing.

kinda girly looking main character who acts girly and gay towards other males, which i honestly find disturbing sometimes. (although its funny when he's girly but not gay)

the black hair judge guy, who did homosexual things after eating bread (but he's not gay)

the blonde hair scientist baker guy, who looks like a girl. (there's a scene where it looks like he gonna kiss kawachi.) this guyu appeared in kawachi's and the black haired judge's "gay fantasy".

kawachi, who runs around with underwear with that samurai guy on the island and later says "I love you" to him when he almost dies. (i HOPE thats a translation error or a misinterpreted thing or cultural wutever) at least they didn't put his earring on the gay side

lastly, that clown...who purely looks gay (but he's not)
*edit* he just pulled out fishing rods outa his crotch....

don't get me wrong. this comic is great, and the "gayness" was funny. i didn't feel disturbed by all this until kawachi stated "i love you" to that samurai guy. im just completely confused now, but im 90 percent sure something homo won't happen. (the other 10 percent comes from the fact that there are a lotta mangas with gay/transexual/wutever themes out there)

Yeah like mentioned there are no gays in the story lol. However although I have to agree that Azuma is still a kid, I still quite find him a bit gayish >.<" I mean that episode where Kawachi mentioned that Azuma is his rival, and Azuma started saying Kawachi doesn't like him anymore and such. Also the way they both looked at each other in the eyes.. and one more scene when Kawachi lost to Kanmuri the way Azuma cry.. omg.. lol.. Well but.. ok.. he is a KID so I will say he's not gay.

LoL I think there are way too many homosexual stereotypes and way to much speculation into this.

Azuma is the dense innocent little kid but if there were to be a pairing in the story with him, I'm pretty sure it would be Tsukino. That's probably not even going to happen seeing as how this isn't the focus of the manga and besides, a lot of male fans would be disappointed. =D

man i just have to say something...this manga may have a lot of gay stereotype scene or thats just how you think....i never even think that anyone was gay from the start....you are just thinking too much...

Ok... I don't know about you guys, but I always find gay people to be hilarious anyway. Gay characters make me laugh the most, because it's always geared toward someone who doesn't want anything like that. If any of you have read Midori No Hibi or watched Iketeru Futari you'd know what I mean.

Ok... When Kanmuri puts his face close to Kawachii's... He's trying to convince him of something. I didn't pick up anything besides the fact, he was going to be the 10 Billion Yen Clown.

When Kawachii is grabbing Azuma to try and kiss him... For God's sake flip the page and notice that he's dreaming about a girl. C'mon now lol...

The thing with the Grans... I found that to be more disturbing then gay... Besides, would any woman love you if you have 6 foot long arms?

Lastly... Ok... So Kawachii told Suwabara he loved him... With tears in his eyes... He was about to die though, can't you at least let that slide. It's not hard to notice he said it, but it's a situational thing, it's not like "Don't die, we never kissed!" or anything. Stop looking so far into it. Smile

A little gayness never killed anyone... Although the last time I told someone that they made me eat my words.

if u watch some movies they two guys always say "i love u man" right before they are about to face something that could kill them. that usually happens in comedy movies.

so kawchii saying i love u is not that big of a deal

But ok, I guess all the stereotypical gay references are meant to be humourous according to all of you... I guess I just dont understand that view point of humor too well. -.-"

From my stand point, the stereotypical gay references are ONLY funny when they are NOT serious. I believe that Hashiguchi (the mangaka), or whoever did that panel, in which Kawachi confesses to Suwabara in his mind, should have visually made the scene more comical. That way idiots or over-analytic people like me (whichever you believe I am) won't misinterpret that statement as a serious remark or emotion.

Or perhaps the mangaka who did that panel should have changed the way the "joke" was manifested. (I just don't find the fact that THINKING "I love you" is funny, since it creates too much of a serious ambiance to me in that scene.) Perhaps if Kawachi actually physically STATED that he loves Suwabara...

Just as KooKoo stated, if Kawachi was to actually SAY "I love you man!", I think I would have then found that scene fookin hilarious.

I guess not every Mangaka is perfect, or rather, not every person can understand the point of view a Mangaka wishes to portray sometimes.

Finally: I KNOW THEY AREN'T REALLY GAY! Must I repeat that....
