So, even if established and fan favorite creators like Keith Giffen, Becky Cloonan, etc were to create original english language manga, you guys wouldn't be interested at all?

i like japanese manga better cuz...they're azn people in it! and sometimes you see some white people...and in american comics you only see white people...no azns no blacks no mexicans...only white people...i think that's kinda messed up only putting white people in it..discrimination...well japanese manga is way better than american comics...
I think the choice is obvious. Everyone here will probably pick Japenese manga. If you introduce a Japenese Manga(lets just say Ichigo 100% ) to a person who only read American manga and not say anything to them for a month. Talk to him/her then and he/she would probably be hooked on it and saying how this is so much better then any American comics.
Though I do agree, saying that Japanese comics are better, I can't help but wonder what becomes of all those people out there who like drawing in the anime/manga style. They're trying to draw in thier own ways, similar to manga-ka, but it's just plain different. You could look at some one's work and say "it's not the real thing", but really, it's real that these people actually sat down and wanted to draw a story.
Some people might actually like these OEL manga...>_>BUt I say this more because people out there just want to draw. If you like the style, and you like the story, that's all that really matters. (...Just becasue it happens to be originally in Japanese does help, mind you. They're just that good over there. Or is it because we only read the good stuff?)
It all goes down to what's interesting to present day culture--if there exist wannabes, there's not much we could do about it. I mean, the internet's always there, anyway.
More established creators join the Original English Language (OEL) manga bandwagon! This time, it's Keith Giffen and the October-debuting I Luv Halloween!
Okay, I'm changing the topic a little here. If you're a comics fan, in your opinion, which creators whose style would suit manga and if they were to produce and create OEL, what kind of stories do you look forward to seeing from them?
Also, guys like Pop Mhan, Joe Madureira, Chris Bachalo, Humberto Ramos and others have manga-influenced styles but would you buy an X-Men, Superman, Batman, Spider-Man (etc.) manga by these artists?

Well, this all depends really. Personally I love japanese manga better. But MegaTokyo is nearly as good or just as good actually as a manga from japan. _________________
Both have their strong point - American emphasizes morals and values (usually) andhave their stereotype, ripped characters while Manga is more free flowing and random
I find that the Japanese Manga interests me more. The American Manga seems to be a bit too "Americanized" With a lot of the emphasis taken away from the story and shifted towards more action and bigger bangs. This doesn't mean I won't read them at all, but I still prefer Japanese Manga.
Some of the manga that's come out of American artists also tends to shift away from the traditional manga look and feel and more towards a Marvel Superhero's type of art.
Just my 2 cents.
True words, + japan animated girls are more cute :$
