I played a little to both. But I dont get hooked, so I dont finish them.
Im more on the fantasy type, like the Fire Emblem Saga. More storywise and character dependent.

But both AW are really nice.

it is a very fun game... but the second had like 5000 more CO's, kinda hard to get their powers straight... whatever

hope they do something new... like a real-time version instead of turnbased...

I heard that they are going to release a new one for Nintento DS in English. They already release it in Japanese.

Both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2 are classics in my opinion. I've played all types of strategy games such as Final Fantasy Tactics, etc. and I consider Advance Wars 2 a real strategy game compared to Tactics. I don't consider leveling up until you're strong enough to beat the enemy strategy. The original Final Fantasy Tactics on the Playstation was fun and I'll always consider it a good game, but there was very little real strategy involved. For some reason, I couldn't get through the Gameboy Advance version without falling asleep. Hundreds of hours of my life were wasted on the Advance Wars series and I will be buying the DS solely for the third game.

The new one coming out for the DS is going to be awesome with the touch screen. I'm definitely picking that one up.

yup Advance Wars is really nice. Always reminds of the good old Battle Isle times on Amiga...

That one is rather a disappointment. I don't find it very interesting at all.
