I think that the series was just out of its time because the original syphon filter on the PSone was a really enjoyable game, but when the sequels began to come out it was just over shadowed the overwhelming success of Metal Gear Solid. They really had bad timing, but we must also note the fact that they posed as a challenge (and the really only challenge with the exception of Splinter Cell) to the MGS series.
I thought that the sequels were pretty well made and that the missions weren't as closed as some other games (Splinter Cell *cough cough*). I thought that the game was just over shadowed and underrated and in the end it was just shunned. I'm really glad that other people have had the experience to play this awesome game. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

Heh, I was gonna pick up Syphone Filter: Omega Strain but never got around to. After awhile, I just forgot about it...
However, the series overall were not bad at all. What other games gives you the oppurtunity to use am air-tazer and fry your enemies to a crisp?
Like Kami said, it was overshadowed my MGS, and was completely underrated. _________________ [IMG:432:143:0a18b764ae]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c315/Reiswinds/betternastysigD.gif[/img:0a18b764ae] |

Syphon Filter was kinda good...especially if you're feeling like a commando with no manners. Gabe doesn't have style, his weapons are low-tech and relies too much on his "Flak Jacket". But Snake...he doesn't need those, he can take more punishment before hitting the dust.
I have played all the Syphon Filter games from the PS1 thru the PS2, in my opinion the best sequel was Syphon Filter 2, 3 and 4 was just crazy but the original was ok. The thing that I don't like about the PS2 game was some of tyhe places need Online support from another player to get over some obstacles... _________________
