I am chinese. I can write, read, and speak. And I speak Cantonese and Mandarin. I don't write as good as I used to but I still can. My computer can't write Chinese but my name is Zhong Kwok Fung.

well, i would have to dissagree with whoever typed that....

Knowing chinese will come in handy in the future,

Imagine that you have a HOT HOT chinese girlfriend and you must meet her parents, which, do not speak English......And you want to leave good impression with them cause you want the girl alot.....If you know chinese, than it would be A LOT easier for you........but if you don't, then......

woo chinese thread...

From Taiwan, came to Canada when 9.. 12 years later, I can still read any chinese that you throw at me but only write like 10 words. Speak Mandarin of course but as I dont live in an asian dominated city like vancouver or toronto, or attend "WaterWoo" (read: Waterloo) for univ, i'm starting to get rusty for lack of usage.

and oh yes, i can understand probably 50% of taiwanese but me speaking it would just be a joke waiting to happen.. Surprised

(but methinks I'm probably good enough to take a taxi in taiwan Smile

Born in Hong Kong and lived there for six years, but then moved to the US. I can listen and speak chinese (Cantonese and some Mandarin) but horrible at reading it and writing it.

Its funny to finally see one of these threads on this site.. Very Happy

Im from Taiwan i speak mandarin like most chinese people.

well i'm an indochinese unfortunately though, i have forgot most of my chinese language as i grow up although i can only the very basic now i can only speak some hokkian although it already mixed up with indonesian

parents are from taiwan, grandparents fled from china. i was born and bred in the usa. i speak and read/write mandarin.
