I have to agree with most of the replies here, the ending was weak =/. Voices of a Distant Star had a much better ending even though it was shorter.

is it just me or doesnt mr. okabe sound like jet black??? same japanese voice actors??? i agree with u guys, the art was just amazing. and yeah it did feel like the story was too short. but stil a very awesome movie Very Happy

was anyone else a bit dissapointed with the editing from scene to scene? seemed like they were just chopped with a butcher's knife...

You realize the guy basically does almost the entire anime himself?

I mean it was like just him on Voices of a Distant star, so that's sorta become his style. Cereberal and strange. I think the quick cuts were intentional, if you had your feet under you then the impact wouldn't have been so powerful.

I personally don't mind the ending. Voices has a pretty weak ending too. I think that's the point. The whole issue was her waking up and everyone being re-united. To go further probably would have cheapened the idea.

Wow... and not in a good way.

After being away from anime for a while, and actually anticipating this movie's release, I was sorely disappointed. I mean, why the hell was I anticipating it in the first place? I hated Hoshi no Koe, so what's going on? I guess all that hype made me get interested, so yeah, anyways.

Horrible storytelling, undeveloped characters, plain looking animation for a movie in an era where Steamboy and Howl's Moving Castle are owning up, and honestly, not as deep as you guys make it out to be. I had a ton more fun watching The Incredibles for the fourth time, and in the end, this felt like a Korean Drama Movie because of its slow pacing and tearjerking tendencies. I came back to anime for this? Please. At least it helped me and my roommate hit a common ground for once: We both agreed that it was a waste of time (and he only watched it for an hour). Considering that I have MCATs in a month... Time really can't be wasted on garbage like this.

I thought the movie was pretty well done. Didn't really understand it in some parts. Still loved the music though.

:3 Just wanted to bring it up. Even though the animation was pretty cool, I think the characters deviated a bit from what they could have been in the original trailer. Main character wouldn't be as sad and maybe be a little cooler and James Bondish or something.

Story isn't as deep as I hoped it, since the dreams don't seem to mean as much as they did in the trailer. But pretty impressive if the main animator was one person.

Just wondering if anyone preferred the original trailer to the current movie?
