How come .hack didn't have a thread? I know it doesn't have a lot of action, but it's got a ton of plot and character development.

The anime is centered around an MMORPG called The World and takes place almost 10 years in the future. A player in the game is trapped in the game and is unable to log out. He draws a group of players in The World into his problems and the mysteries of The World surrounding a legendary item called the Key of the Twilight.

The series seems to drag a bit in some episodes but on the whole it's a great series.

I loved this show, although it may be far too slow paced for some peoples tastes. I think it was Yuki Kajiuras music that created the perfect atmosphere for the show and just sucked me in. It probably also helped that I'm a pretty big fan of online RPGs.
I liked the OAV "Liminality" as well, it was sort of neat to get a look at things from outside the online world. However I wasn't so fond of the second series "Legend of Twilight Bracelet", I found that I just didn't care about any of the new characters and kept wishing that it was centered more on the old characters.
Has anyone played the series of games for PS2? As I don't have the system I haven't been able to play the games but it sounds pretty interesting.

I know. The music was awesome (I figured out how to play some of it on piano and violin).

I've beaten the first three parts of the game (starting the fourth) and they're pretty good. A huge complaint about them was that there wasn't much improvement between them, but I didn't mind it too much, especially since I wouldn't have to get used to new controls every time.

there was a lot of things i didn't understand fully even after watching the whole series, maybe it's cuz i never played the game or watched the previous series? it's my first time entering hack//sign's world ... by watching this anime....

Was tetsuba (main character, sorry about spelling) the only one that could awaken from the game? I also watched 3 eps of liminality and know that there are others trapped in "the world", the game, but was he the only one to awaken outta all the hack series?

and how come he could only wake up when Bear donated some money to the hospital or something? was that the reason he woke up, or was it cuz he fought that lady (big boss? in an rpg game) that girl in the final few eps of hack//sign where everyone was fighting and the main character was doing the healing.....

sorry, i watched the series a while ago and forgot the names of the characters ...

Well, this is my favorite series so far. I've watched everything except for //Gift and the bonus extra episode that concludes things. I have to DL them soon.
lax, Tsukasa woke up after waking up Aura (the little girl, basically that was his goal the whole time). They haven't fought the lady, and besides it was just a voice, so they didn't have anything to fight. They just had to wake the girl, and thus the lady was beaten. Smile) I don't know what happened with the rest of the people in coma but they should have awakened too, after Aura is awakened everyone should be out of the coma and there shouldn't be any more casualties.

It may take place before or during //SIGN, but before the end of it, because as I said after waking up Aura there shouldn't be more casualties and everyone should wake up just as Tsukasa did. But Liminality had a really stupid ending, it didn't get finished at all, all the stuff that they were investigating was left unsolved and foggy.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! Gift has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen in anime.

Anyway, to clear some stuff up, the .hack games and Liminality occur at the same time, which is a few months after the events of .hack//Sign. .hack//Dusk happens 4 years after the games.

Also, does anyone know where I can get the last two bonus episodes (Intermezzo and something I forgot)?

OMG i hated this anime. Hated it a lot. IM not gonna flame but i do have to voice my opinion. Cmon people. There was noo plot development at all. The amount that actually happened could have easilly been summed up in a thirteen ep series with a little better writing but this series ahd only 1 or two decent eps. Charecter development wasnt much better. By the end the charecters still seemed blank with only descriptions that fit them comfilly into steryotypes. And that power of the mind crap.... that was plain bad writing. Yeah if you look hard enough everthing has a message but that was just an easy way out. Im sorry but this show dissapointed me after all the hype it gets and im srry i wasted my time.
