Probably would be dependant on the manga and the popularity of the anime in Japan.

For now, the anime covers from chapter 0 to 72 of the manga, and the manga is only released up to chapter 90(raws) for now.

IMO, it doesn't seem likely since the anime is more on yamato-kun finding his way in relationships than him becoming the no. 1 sprinter in japan. Of course, I could be wrong on that, since this is just my view. Wink

I wouldn't say it was the worst... it was definetly somewhat dissapointing, but it's understandable that certain creative freedoms may have been restricted in order to preserve the manga storyline and maybe to leave room for future expansion on the show if there was any chance that it went into another season...

The animation itself was definetly not on par with some of the current stuff, but the story definetly attracted a fair amount of attention. I can say I was satisfied with the ending, but I wish there were more... and I wish I had enough points to view the manga... Since it's been liscensed about how long will I have to wait until I can grab it off the shelves???

It would have been nice, as someone before me already said, if they showed some more footage of other characters in place of the credits... Is the manga 0-72 a lot different from what was shown in the anime? I'm more interested in the development of the characters that may not have been central to the story line...

And this is the problem with producing an anime adaptation of a manga that is incomplete - remember they're first year high school students - this manga could conceivably run long enough to cover their entire three years in high school. And in the manga, he hasn't even faced Arima again yet, to my recollection.

I see what you are saying, so maybe I was a little to harsh with my criticism. However, given that the anime wasn't planning on completely mirroring the manga, and because the anime was coming to an end, you would think that they could have concluded it a little better. The only conceivable reason I think you end it like that (other than the one you pointed out) is because you want to continue the series once the manga has developed a bit more.

Well..."Finally ended" is all I can say.

Not that it was bad or anything, but the ending was quite...how do you say it...uninteresting. It did give me a little rushed feeling as to how Suzuka manage to 'see the light' and finally accept Yamato. Just a few words from friends and she decides to accept him?

Other than that, the part where Yamato decides to take no more dirt from her attitude impressed me. It was a good change from his character and finally lets us see how his desire to be loved and accepted changes him. The loss of focus on certain characters like Honoka was a little disappointing, though.

Overall, I think perhaps that this series was quite alright on the whole. In fact, better than I imagined it to be a boring series from before. As for a sequel...It depends, I suppose. Popularity-wise, and maybe demands for a continuation of the story with an established relationship between Yamato and Suzuka and the trials that faced it? Wink

I think the ending would've been a bit more interesting if Suzuka had said something like "Give me some time to think" or something to that extent. That way it would've been GUARANTEED there would be a second season...then again, that wasn't how the manga ended up so whatever. I do agree that it felt a bit rushed, but either way, I was satisfied with the ending. I do hope that there will be another season though :/

I disagree. Sometimes, all it takes is a little perspective from someone outside to make people see things differently - in this case, Suzuka realising her actions weren't just affecting herself, and not just Yamato either - but Honoka's life was being affected too. Between their 'catfight' in Episode 24 where Honoka counters Suzuka's "You can't possibly know how this feels" (having the person they like dying) with her own (having someone take the person they like away from them), and her words to Suzuka in the last episode (and also Miki's conversation), maybe it was enough just to get her to see that not confronting things and mourning her dead sempai the rest of her life wasn't going to do herself or Yamato any good.

The only thing that "guarantees" a second season is someone willing to bankroll it, and a network willing to air it.

I don't see how you can say it was rushed, Suzuka's been going between avoiding and confronting her feelings for Yamato for much of the entire series, definitely from back when he started dating Honoka (moreso when she made him 'confess' to her at the bridge near his family's home), if not from back when Yamato first confessed to her at the amusement park.

The way it finished was good. They got together, leaving the possibility of a second season open to explore them building their relationship if someone were to commission it. It also leaves closure in the series in the much more likely event that there isn't a second season.

That might be, and she should have realised that her attitude was getting everyone around her nowhere earlier, had it not been her stubborness against accepting Yamato. Confused I believe Miki's conversation was more on the side of an explanation for some of Yamato's actions, like how he wants to be the best sprinter in Japan before confessing to her (which he failed currently) such that what he was doing wasn't that shallow, thinking that Suzuka would be shallow enough to accept him because he's the best.

And that's the problem with slow-paced anime like this. Some viewers were probably expecting a few more trials and tribulations for them rather than just her friends giving her advice as well as making her realise so quickly that she was getting nowhere with her attitude.

Another thing would be that we haven't really gotten an in-depth POV from Suzuka compared to Yamato (the other main character of the show), so some people might feel a little unsatisfied in that way. Especially for those who read the manga, they would definitely feel that the ending was rushed.

With so much conflict throughout the anime, you would think that there would be a lot of episodes to resolve them with. I mean, we get like a 20:1 ratio for conflicts to resolving them. I just think it isn't right. Suzuka definitely doesn't seem like a person who would change her mind in a month, much less a week, or even a day. They degraded her whole personality in a single episode... how weak? But then again, there isn't really too much to talk about. You can't just throw in a tournament out of nowhere without mentioning anything about it prior. Yes, we are still awaiting the fateful day when Yamato wipes the floor with Arima's face, but other than that, what else are we looking to see, intimate scenes between our two new lovebirds? I think that would do more harm than good.

Whoops, I'm rambling.

Man I couldn't have put it better myself! At first I thought the main character had some balls for asking Suzuka out, but then he bawls like a ***ch when he gets rejected. That is just beyond me... then he says he'll keep going but then gives up based on one lousy kiss. I seriously didn't even know what to think after watching this series... I was more like damn... there went practically 12 hours of my life I'll never ever get back.
