| What kind of game do you prefer? The game where the story is played out for you or the game where you choose the path your character takes. |

| I want to be creative, so I guess I'll choose the path myself for the characters. |

| it's hard to get into a game that doesn't really have a good story line cause i don't really feel i want to continue to play it if there is a bad story or no story at all |

i think every game should have many endings, not only one, so that is i dont like when a story endet totally and dont like when it is to much open.... _________________ Greetz Fuchs |

Yeah, I agree. More choice for us to pick, and more fun to play. |

| Of course story is much better. I hate crappy stories b/c that would gimp the game. Story link events and characters together. |

| If it's not the one given, the story is most likely a bit bland. That's why I prefer the one given. |

| I want both but for certain games. Some games just need a good storyline while others are more addicting with open endedness. |

| I prefer games as well that give you a bit of freedom and more than one ending. It makes then really fun to play again, and getting into different situations with different actions. I don't know many such games though, the last one I remember being like that was Chrono Trigger or so... |

| I love a great story.........but when they don't give you any decisions, and only one ending, thereis like no replay value. Oh and if they give you choices, but it doesn't matter which you choose the same basic thing happens, that sucks.........so I'll say open-ended, but I'll play a good story anyday! |

| A mixture. If an open-ended one doesnt have a good storyline to go with it, it wont be that great. Just like fable, the story was...bleh. |

if someone could create an open-ended RPG with lots of different endings, different choices that affect a lot more than one line of text or one cut-scene, or one battle. with completely diferent perspectives that you have to play multiple times and make lots of different choices each time to get the whole story, and the story is gripping and the characters realistic, that would be great.
But so far, most nonlinear games tend to have a weak storyline and pretty one-dimensional characters. |
