is there anyway to block the ad on the banners so that i can see the whole banner. The program i use just leaves a grey area.

Nope, that ad is approved by A-Source so every banner that was made has to leave that part blank. So the one that you see is the full one.

that area that you see as grey is reserved for the ad, so even if the ad is blocked, there will be nothing to see there. also, we as A-Source ask our members to not block those banners as they are the primary source of income that keep this site running smoothly and as fund-raiser free as possible. it only takes an extra 2-5 seconds to load each ad but every time you load an ad, you are supporting A-Source and allowing us to keep this site up. the final decision is up to you, but if you can spare the little extra time and bandwidth, please allow the ads to load.

i dont mind having the ad, it just kind of bothers me when i look at the cool banners and the ad is covering some of it up.

Or you can go Fan Works forum\Sticky : Website Banners

Check the pages, if they are not there then request to see the original banner (without the ad) and with some luck, you will get a reply from the artist.
