It's been a long time, Mr. Anderson. |
Last year's scores:
GWPM: 83
NWPM: 76
This year's scores:
GWPM: 81
NWPM: 80(it cut me off in the middle of a word)
So while I'm slower overall, my accuracy has drasticly increased.(I should hope so, with all the corrections I made!)
I forget if I was using this same keyboard back then. Somehow, I doubt it, though it's not different enough to make a difference. _________________ The pen is mightier than the sword

| I can type about 365-520 (words or letters I am not sure) per minute. I tested myself a while ago, and my typing skills haven't decreased much, so... |

well, let's see, 360 words per minute would be 6 words per second, or, assuming an average word length of 5 letters per word, 30 keystrokes per second. This is the same as the typical framerate on your TV, and would require considerably more mental bandwidth than the average human brain can output, and that's the slow number you listed.
Now, assuming an average word length of 5 letters per word, 360 keystrokes per minute is now only 6 keys per second, and 72 WPM. A decent score, and much more believable than anything over 200. _________________ The pen is mightier than the sword

Typed Text (Mistakes in bold)
You are about to embark on a new career that is both challenging and rewarding. Your ability to type as fast as possible will be an important aspect fo your success. A good way to help ensure this success is to make the keyboard your friend. You will spend many long hours, just you and your keyboard, in the future, and for these hours to be tolerable they ahve to be enjoyable. Consider your keyboard an invaluable tool that requires persistence and patience to master. As a vitally important tool of your trade it needs to be treated with respect; don't make it the recipien

and no, I didn't cheat or anything.
Story time!
Several years ago when I was like 10-11, my mom bought me this "Mavis Beacon Typing center no. 6". There were games in there that forced you to type quickly and accurately, or else you'd run into tons of squid and get eaten by a shark or get your windshield covered by flies and crash your car and die. So in order to live (they were scary games) I typed accurately and quickly.
and that's six years ago when I became proficient.. so speed's sorta been going up. yeah.
