Nowadays, when I see KOF98, I just had to sit down and play it at least once. Don't have much time to hang around at the arcades to play other games.  |

they recently put in the new KOF in my area and it still looks the same as always in graphics wise, i got all the way up to the last stage and then i just got my ass kicked, i hate it when they make all the normal stages easy and the last stage impossible. |

The latest Kof? Is it Neowave? the one that was suppose to be using the 3D graphics? I tried that a while but was pretty sad that they screwed up pretty bad on the graphics department...
At least you made it to the final boss. I didn't even survive the challengers. Since its new, chances of playing to the boss was pretty slim. |

i dunno i just played the game because it was cheap, no one in my area plays KOF, only street fighter or Tekken. there was only 3d graphics for the background in the one i played but the only 3d KOF i know of is "maximum impact" |

Most of the arcade shops here aren't taking any new games ever since the ban of arcade games here in Malaysia. Plus cyber cafes has taken over the market.
I could only find neowave in one shop. Maybe that's the reason why I had no chance to play until the boss unless I'm really that good to kill off all the chalengers. They didn't take Maximum Impact here though. Could only play it on a PS2. |

Tekken 5! Graphics are on a whole new level plus the ability to air grapple in a 3D game(for king and marduks players), is just amazing. anyway, i like the way you can have yourself ranked with your card and the customized character costumes.  |

maximum impact is only on ps2 isnt it, havent seen them in any arcades round my area. why are arcades banned in Malaysia ?, arcades are like harmless places here, cyber cafes are pretty cool though, if you are really good at the games there.
if u wanna beat challengers and you are not really good, just block and sweep kick, it takes a lot of damage for one move and if they block just throw, pretty easy really, although the challenger will walk off pissed but its worth it though. |

Oh I thought they have MI in arcades too. Arcades was banned during the time when arcade owners was using the machine for gambling machines. It was so widespread that they banned arcades overall. After that, they moved on to using computers for gambling machines. Cyber cafes almost had the same predicament but somehow they managed to fight it off and some rules was set that cyber cafes cannot have partitions, no smoking, must be above 18 years old to enter, well-lit and the shop must be open using glass windows so outside people can see into the shop. However, the ban on arcades is not in effect anymore but the impact still shows since its difficult to find arcade shops with new games now. But its also better now because most of the games they have now appeals to girls. At least girls don't really mind going there now since the places are cleaner and not so dark.
Wish I can just sweep them to death. Works on average players that always time their jump attacks wrongly. You could grapple them once they land too. But sometimes a really good player sits down and play, they just keep attacking until I can't even retaliate.  |

Times are changing, i used to remember when arcades were only filled with boys but now its pretty much 50-50 now so its getting better.
the challengers that piss me off the most are button mashers that get lucky when your kicking their a** and pull off the desperation move and damn that is freaking annoying.

I think the latest arcade mode of KOF should be KOF 2003, right? |
