Manga History, Info etc.

Hi all, I need some help. I'm studying japanese and i have to do a detailed study on an aspect of japan, so i chose my all time favourite hobby anime/manga! I need to find out as much info as possible about the history etc of both. If anyone knows of any good information or websites that may be useful for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps guys

Hi,

I did almost the exact samething for a project in art. I recomend looking up "Osamu Tezuka". He made astroboy, and pretty much created Manga and Anime as we know them today.

you have a point, they don't call him the walt disney of the east for nothing... i know there is a book you can pick up that would help you out a lot, but i can't remember the name of it. it's pretty thick too, something like the history of manga and anime in japan or something.

Yeah...Osamu Tezuka...nicknamed "the father of modern manga" or "walt disney of the east"...hes a good start for modern manga......for old ones...I think the first closest thing to a manga was a piece called "the waves" or somthing like that.....
