It all depends really. I know guys that keep anime dolls for decoration, the mini ones which i think r cute..but terribly expensive. Of course that's the usual case, dolls to be put on the reading table, car dashboard r whever it will b usually seen. That's fine really. Playing with them? Geez, playing with dolls is for kids, no? And as Applesoap said, jerking off to them...WOAH that is WEIRD. Won't creep me out though...still that depends on what doll that was! |
Playing with display figures? Is that even possible? Since I'm no longer a kid, I have completely forgotten the joys of playing with toys.
and Hell no I'd never play with my figures, I'm not so insane that I'd risk breaking any of my collections. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Sorry to say this but usually anime "action figures" are pretty lousy. Anime "action figures" are marketed towards children so their production value are lower than static pose figures. Also most of those are usually transforming robot toys of some sort. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Heh, this kinda reminds me of this episode of Paranoia Agent...
I dunno. I know alot of boys have them, but I've never really bought any. I think if you like a character enough, you'd be willing to buy alot of merchandise of theirs, whether the character be male or female. |

I don't care what people do with their spare time if they aren't hurting anyone. Whether they simply own, or play with them, it's not hurting me so why should I care. _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

it really depends on the definition of "doll".
When people says doll, my mindset leans towards figures intended for girls/females like barbie dolls. And if guys collect barbie type dolls, then I am a little scared.
But if you branch off the definition and meant "action figures" for guys, then guys collecting action figures are fine. |

But those things you mention are not all there is to it. Sure, those are classic definition of regular "toy" available to most kids. But "action figures" have movable joints. Also most "action figures" are male characters.
So how are you going to group "non posable female character figures"? Those kinds of figures used to be all resin statues that takes lot of effort to essemble and finish, but these days, companies release mass produced PVC versions of the same statues.
Since most people who have commented here don't seem to realize how little they know about the figures and model otakus in Japan, just see little bit of what goes on in Akihabara in this link.

It's photos from Wonderfest from 2005. The biggest annual figure/model convention in Japan. Consider it an "E3 of figure/model industry". _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |
