Soulmates

Just wondering who here is somewhat of a helpless romantic with beliefs such as soulmates. I do for one.

You seem to have "soulmates" confused with "love at first sight" (personally don't believe in that, but still believe in soulmates") So just to clarify "soulmates" are people destined to be together. This is not to say that they don't have to work in order to get there. I also think realtionships are based off hard word, but I think that the realtionship is destinted to either live of fail. So the real question of this thread would be: Do you believe in Destiny?

Soul mates is a stupid term, but some people you do seem to be friends, partners, lovers with instantly no matter what circumstances you land in. But everyone changes and you gradually part with friends relatives and all that. It all depends on what happens when you die that determines whether soul mates can exist.

I believe that people have certain values, skills, things that are beautiful and attractive about them.

I believe that people are attracted to people with certain qualities and attributes.

I believe that there are one or more girls out there who have the qualities I find attractive, who finds the qualities that I have attractive.

I believe there are certain things you can learn and do that will make sure your marriage or union will be happy and last a very long time (it's been done before).

So yes, I believe in soulmates.

Destiny is basically another word for fate, which is just a word used to explain "what will happen in the future". But fate is not predestined (well it is in a way, but you'll never know until you're there) therefore the future is still uncertain. There could a person you could have been 'destined for' but still you're unable to be with them because of certain factors that may play out in your regular lives...

I guess I do belive in destiny but not soulmates. I think there are multiple people who one could end up being with instead of just one person perfect for you.

I do believe in soulmate, but the term always go with soulmate is "Destine for each other" I don't believe in that. I think destine is another saying for fate so I say I control my own fate. I think soulmate is just a coincidence that 2 people met each other and practically fell in love, "Love at first sight" is the right term.

Well the point of the thread is to find out beliefs on soulmates, so it kinda is a trick question. To go further I also think that there could be multiple people out there for each person, but destiny draws two specific people together or apart by its on wims.
