I don't think by putting rating AO really impress that GTA SA will not be played by teenager anyway, (most likely those ignorant parent is the one who don't care to check their children's game)
that's true that this game may affect the young generation, but who are willing to change it?
Isn't it the same with the TV show, etc? who is willing to change the trend (kiling, sex)?
According to me, if we want to change this society, is not by putting any game rating into AO, but just banned it anyway (if it's really dangerous). Better than changing the rating/ banned the game, it will be better if the parent start to care about this "small little thing" like game/TV show, and school start to discipline this situation.
I found out that student in US are lack of discipline because of their bad high school habit compare to those in Asia.
My conclusion is, this game is not the problem, the society's ignorance is the problem. _________________ Still newbie in computer, trying to fix my English.

sorry to say this but im gonna have to disagree with you, what makes games any different if what we see on tv aint any different, choices is all you have in your life and if you block us from what you let them see and what you dont want them see, what makes you think they wont just get ideas off other stuff. people who commit these crimes are just looking for a scapegoat just so they can get a lighter sentence, in the end the truth is, it was your choice from the beginning and to the end. juss my opinion sorri if i offend
Maybe, but the games we play now how way too violence today. With all the shooting, fighting, and killing, blood everywhere. The teenagers are still at the stage of growing, and it is best if they don’t get too much of these stuffs, so I think rating some of the games to AO is the only RIGHT ways.
Yeah, teenagers are growing but don't you think even a 7 year old would know not to mix entertainment and pleasure with his real life. My cousin is 4 and he loved GTA, and I never seen any crazy signs of him killing. Except for the fact that he cries when someone is fighting and hate fighting himself. The teenager mind is too far in age to say that it is still growing in that kind of way. We should have common sense by that time. The only thing still growing is how we do stupid things to impress people(class clowns), and trust me, even the dumbest kid in a high school knows that a murder spree doesn't get you a date to the dance. _________________

Anyway, it's just not appropriate for youngsters to see too many violent scenes.

Violence in real life is a lot worst than what we may enjoy playing. I think people enjoy GTA so much because they know it's something they can't do in real life and getting to do something like that is just plain fun. Plus, their are still tv shows and the news. Violence is everywhere and if the only violence that entertains us has the go through changes, than so should the world with it. If their are still violent acts going on in real life, then the only violence that we actually enjoy should still be available for teenagers. _________________

Meh the fact that the scene is in the game really isn't so big a deal, I mean with all the violence and whatnot its rather amazing that it didnt get an AO afore this, what really was the killer was that they lied about the scene being in the game, the lie is where rockstar shot themselves in the foot. But it kinda tells us that the ESRB is really not very knowledgable about what they are rating all they can do is belive what developers tell them.

I think they are all just making a whole lot of monkey shit out of nothing. First of all, the people making these accusations that video games should be right up there with ciggarettes and alcohol have probably never played a game in there entire lives, and they use out of date material to present their argument. For example, some shithead at my old high school started something up with a guy he met on tour who goes to schools showing tapes of taboo material, and one of his examples was an old GTA3 clip. For fuckin' Christ's sake, if you want to make an impressionable argument, use a more up to date example! As far as teenagers go, I'm nineteen, and I'm probably more likely to cosplay as Dante from DMC3 than put on a wife beater, hang out with some black chick and bang her on camera, then turn around and shoot a few cops. (except for the banging part, as long as it's off camera, it's cool) Think about it. Most of us are smart enough to not run around and shoot people in real life because we know better! As long as we can shoot people in video games, fantasize about women, anime or otherwise, and work for a living, we really don't need to turn to such drastic measures!
btw, I've had it since it came out, sweet game! And get this, I was hangin with my dad the other day when it came on the news, as soon as it was over, my dad says, " I'm gonna go online and see if I can't find the GameShark code for this..." Proving that parents are more likely to go for this shit than we are. _________________ http://www.anime-source.com/upload/uploadFiles/DanteMustDiesig.JPG

Meh Rockstar Got what was coming to them for lieing about the content of the game. The actual content is no big deal because only people who REALLY want to get it will see it.the game couldve used an AO from the start anyways. The problem is that this might cause a return of videogame hatered, and this will create distrust in the ratings the ESRB gives
Wow... a whole lot of time and effort, tax dollars wasted on nothing.
Everyone with half a brain knows GTA is a violent game and that the difference between mature and adults only is just a small distinction.
People are so worried about a stupid game that allows poorly simulated sex in pixels.. might want to divert their attention to actually parenting and not letting their kids get the game/download the patch, etc, etc.

exactly. There are more pressing matters going on at this time. some video game with a sex scene isn't something all that bad.
The company should not be held responsible for anything that has happened as a result of this game. The parents should know what they want their kid to play and if they feel that GTA is too graphic, dont buy it, but allow the people that want it and are responsible enough have it.
This stupid sex scene is completely ridiculous. why would anyone care about a sex scene in GTA when the graphics are anything but realistic. Its like watching cartoon characters do "it". Most of the people who download it are probably just looking for a laugh, or they may be "shining the shoe" , either way this does nothing to polute the minds of the youth and isn't anywhere near the same level that smoking and alcohol are on. Never heard of someone dying from an overdose of GTA or "GTA poisoning".
In my country, GTA has been banned since the GTA3 version. I managed to get GTA3 and GTAVC through games selling pirated games
I think its a little exaggerated to ban these games, even SA. People just want to have some fun playing these kinds of games that allows to explore the world of vice. haha...but im sure most people are SANE enough to know whats right and wrong.
Hope to find SA in the pirated game shop when it is in stock,,,,

Completely agreed! It's a shame that even in this day in age that irrisponsible parents can't lay the blame on themselves for letting their child loose and causing them to get hooked on alchohol and drugs. Seriously, it's like the 1st hint they find of something that is a tad it violent they have to point the finger at it.
As also said, that "Sex scene" shouldn't even be taken seriously. The only people that'll even bother with that is people who are very curious and people who are looking to get a good laugh or something. No one should take this result seriously at all. It's all in good fun.
As I siad in my 1st post, I feel so sorry for Rockstar. Come on, the free-roaming idea was and still is the most revolutionary event to ever happen in the gaming industry since 3D and they have to pay for their brillance and hard work. _________________
