That the way it must be. In fact, GTA can be a dangerous game form morrons who can't make the difference between game and reality. And moreover, there are in fact some mature content in the game.

And thanks to these kind of unthoughtful opinions, the game is rated AO. Seriously, like I said before, people know that GTA is only a game and just as you said, it's the "morons" that turn entertainment into reality. Think about this for a minute, if your kid was a moron, don't you think it would be a lot better for the parent to teach the kid better or to watch what type of games your child play or not? The blame can be easily thrown onto the parents as the students. If parents aren't for their kids playing such "dangerous" games then they should carefully watch their kids. For me, my mom has trust in me and my siblings and she knows that we aren't like that, so she doesn't keep that close of an eye on what type of games we play. Thank god I was brought up in a reasonable family!

I don't think that GTA:San Andreas deserved to get the AO rating. I mean sure the game contained the coding for the "hot coffee mod," but still it wasn't intended for the public to view it. They couldn't take the whole coding out of the game because that would have delayed the release date, but isn't ROCKSTAR truly at fault here? They had good intentions of keeping their word on the release date, but in essence their haste caused a great misfortune. The game itself, if played through does not contain the mod. For this reason, the game should retain its' M rating. It was only after the mod was released on the internet that the game got extensive controversy.

The online material that could be downloaded to give an 'extra' experience to the game was not published by ROCKSTAR, so ROCKSTAR isn't at fault for the bonus material leaking out.

Parents claim that the game is some-what 'unsafe' for kids because of the nudity and sexual content within the 'hot coffee mod.' But honestly, if their kids were downloading the mod for the 'extra' experience, then they are likely to be downloading pornographic material. It's not like the game itself is showing your children an intercoarse for the first time.

And because of this mod, Hilary has taken the oppurtunity to try and ban these types of games. This is not a pro-active choice though. Hilary didn't even consider to try and recall the games to try and recode so that the extra material is not able to be obtained. This is certainly not the decline of western civilization as they claim it to be.

I think the best choice for ROCKSTAR to do at the given moment is to make a newer version of GTA: San Andreas without the coding for the bonus material.

Two things, A) they are already doing that and are going to release it sometime soon.

B) About the videogame violence, explain to me how a teenager would kill somebody back before videogames and the like. There would be nothing to fall back on. The only reason people say videogames make people violent is to make the guilty party look as though they are the victims and get a less harsh penalty. Simple as that.

i just think that giving GTA:SA an AO rating takes out the other option of a teenager to release stress... some teenagers who happen to not have this game go out of their houses to punch someone, to rob to kill. but others who have this game whenever they feel sad turns on the game to release their anger...

i think GTA:SA is one way to release anger and to induce people to doing the real thing..

my opinion only

Does anyone think that the new rating has increased people's interest in playing the game since it is now so taboo in the government? The ability to actually play the mod is so far out of reach compared to real porn, on a note that someone mentioned, so the mindset existed in teenagers anyways.

Putting an AO is stupid, because porn is so much easier to access. Go online, and if a kid really wanted to, can find some without much trouble. Plus, the hot coffee mod is of crappy quality, not that I know because I do not play GTA.
