Pompoko is the one you're thinking of xristyan. It's a Ghibli film. Not bad but I always get sleepy when I watch it for some reason. It's basically a pro-nature type anime, about how mankind is destroying the homes of the woodland creatures.
Ghost in the Shell - revolutionary animation for it's time (80's??), plot is deep and a little hard to follow if you don't concentrate.
Ghost in the Shell 2:Innocence - the sequel to the first GITS movie. Made quite recently so the visuals are beautiful, but again the plot gets too deep and philosophical at times which IMO breaks the flow of the film.
Cowboy Bebop (movie) - Pretty good. Kept true to the series. I loved the intro and ending songs, although I could never find the name of the intro which wasn't on the OST.
Laputa: Castle in the Sky - My all time favourite Ghibli and one of my favourite movies. Great story, great music, great characters and beautiful settings. I recommend this film to everyone, anime fans and non-anime fans
Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind - Also a superb Ghibli film. Again great story, great characters and spectacular settings. I just read the first volume of the manga and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
.... actually this is gonna take way too long to name all the anime movies i've watched. In general I really enjoyed all of Studio Ghibli's films, especially the Miyazaki ones and recommend all anime fans watch at least one if not all of them. |

| I would say Spirited away and Howl's Moving Castle are two of the best anime movies I've seen. I recently watched Soukyuu no Fafner - Right of Left and it was sooo good. ONe of my faves aswell. The stoy was really touching and deep and tears just kept falling at the end of the movie. I really liked it and I really must say that it's a one to watch |

| Gundam Wing Endless Waltz - It shows the origin of the original Operation Meteor, Character Pasts and New Gundam Designs. It happened a year ago after the Christmas Eve War of AC 195. |

I actually haven't seen too many anime movies (not a single Miyazaki film, ZOMG). My thoughts on the few I've seen...
GOOD
Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door - I really enjoyed this film. It's just as good as any other Hollywood-made movie. As kidder said above, it stays true to the CB series. Great story and awesome visuals. I only wish I could have seen it in the theaters.
Ghost in the Shell - I wasn't a big fan of the visuals, but it is an old movie, so I suppose for something from that era, it's excusable. The concepts behind the story were kinda lost on me, but I was able to kinda catch the jist of it more after seeing Standalone Complex. It definitely deserves the praise it's been given.
Metropolis - Stunning artwork and a good, emotional story.
BAD
Steamboy - The art is probably the only positive point. The first 30 minutes were interesting, but the last hour and a half or so had me snoozing.
TO BE SEEN
You're Under Arrest: The Motion Picture - haven't seen it yet, but I've heard good things. It was on sale for $7, so it's being shipped to my house as we speak.
The Place Promised in Our Early Days - I saw this on fansub about a year ago (or whenever it came out). I loved the art (as I usually do), but the story kinda didn't hit it off with me. When I watch it in English once it arrives at my house, I'll be sure to concentrate more on what's going on. _________________

I wouldn't use the "c" word... but I would use the "a" word... "animated film." When I think anime, I think japanese. Monsters' Inc is by an American company (Disney/Pixar)
anyway, I don't wanna get off topc. the rest of the arugement is here: http://www.anime-source.com/banzai/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14203&sid=eeca2b4d3366ae8048f8113e4f8a18e1 _________________
