Why is Gundam Seed such a popular hit?

yea foreal, i mean i don't think gundam ever appealed to me becuz when they were giving GW i was like i dunno 10? or something like that and i didn't understand jack s*** what they were talking about.

and some other gundam shows there (they combine??) and this other one there with really crappy animation (this was all in cartoonnetwork btw) there was another one of those that i also didn't understand becuz they talked a lot of crap, and the fights weren't shonnen type either, but of course i didn't know wtf "shonnen" was when i was smaller, but i guess that's what appealed to me and still does.

G Gundam was the only one that i really liked, even though it was repetetive it had its good moments, i liked the gundams and i also liked the characters, and they DIDN'T TALK SO MUCH SH*T!

So finally i gave Gundam SEED a chance and i liked the animation but sometimes i was CRAAVVING for the episodes to finish when they were just blah blah blah blah. The fights were less than decent becuz they repeated A LOOOOT of things, and even they didn't they were medicore at best (imo). but i also have to admit that it DID have its moments but when those moments happened the flashbacks got 10x worse than naruto.

i don't see how its so dam popular.

you know.. it cant really get much worse than naruto, i have the tendancy to start a series and finish it.. thats my reason for watching/reading naruto. anyway... GSD ep 50 = ...omfg. REUSED CLIPS X 50.. honestly, they took providence's funnel attack from GS, they coloured it blue, gave it to freedom. they left it as it is for legend, athrun's kicking, we've seen enough of that. kira's shooting down funnels is the same as the opening, where he shoots down 2 zakus and 2 goufs... the beam spaam, we've seen that before havnt we. boomerangs, reused reused reused.. they're old now. lunamaria and impulse, the slashing, thats reused, the shooting of the murasame's, reused... i can keep going but you get the point =D... that ep..freaking.. SUCKED.. and thats all i have to say =D

hey yea!! in a lotta gundam shows they seem to use some scenes like repeatedly~! i mean y is that?!!....i mean ok..they do it in Gundam Wing too..but basically only in the beginning..cuz well..it's old......but the newer series has no excuse!!..lol.

Lazy animators, low budget and careless directors are in my opinion the causes for that. I think that, no matter the cause, it reduces the overall quality of the show. But hey,at least sincee the Gundam Pilots used grunts sometimes in GW it was nice to see the grunts could do more than 2 things (shoot or get blown up).

I just saw ep 01 of the 8th MS Team. Looks pretty good. You guys should check it out if you haven't. The dub is pretty good too, since the characters are not speaking in monothones only and the voices seem to fit them.

actually. i'd say that its not a lack of budget that screwed gsd over.. its the idiotic way they used that budget, honestly.. i'd take one less opening song, one less random insert song, over more animations, and a better storyline anyday. i think they spent most of their money on music o_o...

8th ms team was decent, i mean, grunts are pretty much at a realistic skill level... that or shiro just sucks, but..yeah. =p

The question I shall answer is in the title, Why Gundam Seed is popular.
You can't really say that people watch Gundam SEED on impulse, it's usually for the simple fact that it is part of the Gundam... Chronicles I'll say, and so, they make the seemingly harmless decision to watch the first episode, and realize that it is fairly the same as other Gundam series. They convince their friends who had never had the chance to watch any other Gundam series, to watch it. Thus it begins. That would be one main reason. Another reason for it's popularity could be the people who actually like the political struggle, the giant mech battles, and the off and on romances. The last reason as mentioned before is the art, I especially like the artist for Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny, he also worked on Fafner, which is actually the only reason I watched it. God I'm Shameless -_-U

I never watched Gundam SEED or destiny, because I'm not well versed in the Gundam universe and I'd probably be lost. Backstory is important to me, I like to be in the know over what's going on when I watch a particular series.
