Nintendo's got some great games lined up for DS: MarioKart, Metroid, etc.
Sony's got some good stuff in the plans too: GranTurismo4 mobile, FFVII revisited, Advent Children, etc.
Sony ticked me off, though, when they got my hopes up by listing a new version of Armored Core (one of my fav PS game series) for PSP, but later making it so that you never piloted the mech, just building it, programming it's AI, then watching it fight by itself. Pretty lame, IMO.
As far as things go now, though, I'd say DS, simply because it already has a huge library of games available (backwards compatability with GBAdvanced games), many of which are very good RPGs (another personal Fav).
With new games, though, expect the types of games for DS to be similar in genre to that of gamecube (slightly more kiddy-flavored than with PS2, with not as many good RPGs), and same for PSP -- as long as they don't take forever to release a good RPG.
so wat if PSP can only last 4 3hours.. but it can do better than Gameboy DS..PSP can has a better graphic, it is also a MP3 player, DVD player as i forgot..
Well, I personally like the PSP better. I don't get the point of the second screen of the DS. Sure it makes things interesting but why don't you just make one good touch screen like the PSP? I've always been a fan of Nintendo but I really don't like the DS. I like my 5-year-old Pocket PC better than it =P
im gonna say neither, DS is just crap, all the games so far released have been sad, quite sad, and with the whole dual screen, stylus touch garbage it just doesnt look worth it, the new innovative touch screen style thingie isnt fun, its nothing but a hassle.
PSP, well, the launch titles look pretty bad, but if something good comes out, i might get it, i really dont see many flaws in it, except maybe the size.
as a tru gamer. any console is has its moments. so will psp and ds,
if i can get the money i'll buy both once i know a game that appealing.
how bout that Jump SuperStars if that comes out i'll get ds, same goes 4 the FF7 remake if there still doing it. or is it the movie... help me out on this one people
I have both, and I can honestly say that the psp is better overall. The graphics are better, and the games just seem more better overall.
I never noticed the battery life anyway. The only complaint I have with it is that the memory card is so small. At least the ds doesn't need one.
I never really liked the PSP too much...most of these points were already brought up, but i agree that the PSP is a little too big to be a portable, kind of expensive, and the CDs, while bigger than the DS cartridges and therefore harder to lose, are more easily damaged if dropped. The PSP is pretty much enhanced graphics and sound at the cost of battery life, which is a big part of the handheld console's capabilities. If you have access to a power outlet all day you may as well use a TV and a PS2.
I must admit, though, the PSP has amazing capabilities for a handheld, with stunning graphics and great sound quality.
I would say the DS is better, because of the battery life and how the graphics, while doubtlessly inferior to the PSP, still are good for a handheld. Also, the touch screen opens up many more possibilities for gameplay. The biggest problem i find with the DS is that its hard to concentrate on both screens at once, like in Yoshi's Touch&Go, where you have to draw lines around enemies and watch baby mario's progress and making sure he doesn't get hit by anything
wow...i didn't expect to write this much about the topic

PSP. Sure, its pricey, and there's defective stuff; but i'm in it for the damn gameplay, not the stupid hardware features...i'm sorry, i take back that stupid hardware thing. _________________
just because it doesnt fit in your pocket doesnt mean its not portable...i mean...laptops are portable....
PSP for sure...
just because i have 2 eyes doesnt mean i need 2 screens...
sure...psp's batt life is low...but having 2 screens will drain batt life too...its just so unecessary....besides the FLIP...theres nothing else about the DS that would make me buy it over the PSP...theres always ppl bored enough to make custom psp accessories...maybe they will make a flip for it? who knows...
