im a guy too, first to vote ^_^, i feel special. Actually i get really caught up in animes a lot. DN Angel is a good example. I about cried at the end with all the stuff going on. Especially the last few eps with Freedert and the ending. I get caught up in animes a lot. I feel and understand the characters. Though not always. It's a really emotional thing.

| when i get all emotional in the anime, i just cant help it but i feel a bit sad for doing something like this. I dont think a guy should show their emotional because of a good show. But i cant stop crying when its a sad ending. |

| I sometimes feel sorry for a certain characters in the anime series, like when they are dumped, beaten, or whatever. |

I do too...i don't think theres anything wrong with being emotional while watching anime...some parts are made to feel a impact or else anime don't be that good. |

I don't think you can be truly enjoying an anime if those kinds of things don't affect you!
The only anime with "sadness" that I couldn't feel for the characters is Saikano, I realised it's because I didn't actually like Saikano! Everything else I've seen with sad moments, whether it be a death, lost love or what ever, I always feel something for those characters. I often sit and bawl my eyes out, sometimes though, it's from happiness |

I think that`s the point of any story. May it be anime, manga, movies, books, plays, opera...
If you don`t get involved, if you can`t get involved, you can`t get the most out of it. Sometimes when you can`t get involved it just isn`t your thing, sometimes, the story is just bad , but when you do get involved, you feel for and with the charachters, their feelings seem like your own, you want to punch the guy causing them hurt, or scream to get out of there
At least that`s what happens to me
And I do cry sometimes at the most emotional scenes. Well I even cryed at the end of Elfen Lied |

| hey me too, i love elfen lied, i was so overwhelmed by emotion that it made me wanna get maself a girlfriend and hug her. but i didnt have one. To fully appreciate anime is to place yourself in the characters' body, feeling their mind and soul i guess. |
