in the manga we dont see the dog diying, but in the anime is crushed by a budah alien(i cryed )the dog was so cool!!!but whell, dogs luck

I think either the dog died in the real world or animals just dont show up on Gantz when they die.

As for the question of how Gantz chooses who goes to the room...
I think he doesn't necessarily always take the strongest in stature, but the strongest in spirit.
Like the old man for instance. He's definitely in no shape to be fighting, but he still lasted a pretty long time and was a big help in killing aliens.
Maybe Gantz can see someone's true stature, not just physical.

How does it take it off after missions?
If it doesn't take it off, then it could not have died getting hit by a car/truck because the suit would save it.
