i totally see ur point but raito only go after major criminals such as murderers, serial killers and terrorists. i dont think people would start living in fear and be afraid of every little thing they do just because of that instead it is those who commited major crime that should live in fear _________________ If a quiz is quizzical, what is a test? |

Well in certain cases yes because sometimes the system really is too soft on people who need their asses executed.. but.. what about the cases were the crimminals have been framed or their position is justified but unknown...
Raito goes straight for the kill and we don't know exactly how much evidence he does have. So I pick the last option. |

| looks like Im the tie breaker. I dont think Raito's doing the right thing because he's a cold blooded killer, trying to create a utopia which is impossible to attain. Raito's naive dream will never come. |

The workplan, Raito's idea, is somewhat look nice. Creating a world peace without any criminal become most of our leader dream. but what happen now. Do we really get a peaceful world?

| I don't think he's doing the right thing for humanity. I think he's insane, at first his ideal for a better world make me thing he's a good guy, but then he's using the notebook to do other problem, he's obsess with his power and think of himself as god. Of course a utopia with no crimes or criminals is so good but I don't think it good for all peoples. Example like the police, lots of country have police, now if there's no crime how can the police work anymore so the have to retire and there's not so much work that they can get to afford their family. |

I've never really thought that Light was doing this for mankind, think about it, if he eliminates murderers, then he effectively decreases the likely-hood of himself dying from being murdered. Which may help him live to a nice old age. Of course there is always random accidents, but by removing the main cause of death, he will only have to watch his back for cars and what not. And as Light said in the beginning page of Death Note, he will make the world into his liking, by his standards. As soon as Light thought of killing his father or Sayu, his intentions quite reflecting his assumed intent, and reflected his selfish desire to be a god over having a truely perfect society.
.... but of course, Liight is just soo coool, go Liight, wipeout the whole alphabit if you want to. ^_^b |

| He's doing the world a favour. Of course its good for humanity. The power to control life and death anonymously is slowly allowing him to build a Utopia; the perfect world. Though in the end, he may be the last corrupt soul. |

They always start with this "I want to make a better world", but on the way "I need to clear my path" and then "If you not join me, you are my enemy". By the end "I want more power" and "Everyone must be control by me".
Raito is doing for himself, not for the world. |

He may be doing it for himself, but isn't he also helping the world around him as well? His after effect doesn't only involve individuals, but also involves the society around him. By picking out 1 evil at a time, he is SAVING lives.
Think about it. |

Yea, I say Raito's doing good. I'd feel much more at ease if people such as terrorists, murderers, rapists, burglars, etc. all died and went to hell. But then again, I wish I was Raito due to our somewhat similar views on world peace. |

Didn't sound like it though... anyway, whether you like it or not, violence is sometimes the quickest way to peace, and when it comes to exterminating all criminals, sometimes the only way to peace.
I mean, come on, with the amount of corruption, as well as the number of criminals these days, there isn't much of a way for crime to recede into nothingness. |
