Best Character Design

-hopefully there isn't a thread like this yet..& if there is i apologize in advance.

Well i just wanted a few opinions on which anime character has the best design concerning: how well the character is drawn (obviously), the character's outfit, choice of color, certain aspects that make the character unique, etc..

In my opinion, Ed from Full Metal Alchemist is 1 of the best character design. He is drawn to portrayl an "alchemist" , and i think his outfit, auto mail leg and arm, and his hair portrayles his uniqueness as a alchemist traveler. The way he's built serves a specific purpose towards his mission.

I think that anime character's outfits/ fashion, the colors of their eyes, hair, and other characteristics are important aspects of what makes them tick and creates them to be such a popular attraction.

**So here's the question. What anime character has the best design/ make up and why?

I already gave u an example so give it a shot. I personally like characters' outfits and build up that serve a purpose. Another example is that robot character from Appleseed. He had bunny like ears on his head, which looked bizare. But it serves as a video camera, in order to c things w/o attracting any unwanted attention. So tell me wat character has a unique design~!

I agree with you. Ed in FMA sure is unique, though he's aggressive like some anime characters... But there are many unique anime characters like Ban (in GETBACKERS) who has unique abilities called 'evil eye' and 'snake bite'. He only wears plain clothes but his personality is cool- and hot-tempered (weird right?). But what I really like about him is his brain and logic. He can be a detective since he's truly smart!

Um...Yeah I'm going to have to say that the Chobits in "Chobits" have to be on my list. Their ears serve a major purpose for themselves, their owners and the series itself! Asuka has something like it with her hair clips that I happen to forget...(Too distracted by her annoying voice, which reminds me of Ashia *shudder*) And I think that all anime characters clothes and styles have a purpose in anime, to keep it from becoming a Hentai lol

Darcia III from Wolf's Rain has one of the best Character Designs, to me at least... Darcia makes Being Goth Look cool...

I like Erementar Gerad and Pia Carrot E Youkosou ~Sayaka's Love Story~ character design. Hani-Hani Operation Sanctuary and FInal Approach shown a great deal in character designing as well. SO far this is all i can think of... sorry but I don't have affection on FMA Character Design...

Ok just kidding.....

I would have to say Itachi in his Akatsuki or Anbu costume.... makes him look all the more mysterious..... esp. if he wears that huge hat along with the Akatsuki clothing.
