I'd say rap is the mostly listen to kind of music. Rap is one of which people most likely listen to. Either way there are some music the can changed your whole outlook on life or the way you live your life. It is strange how such a song can have such an effect and literally confuse others on how fast you've changed and I'd would like to know reasons as why people change from rap or any kind of music. |

| Well, no offense first, but I don't find rap that great at all. Well, I have difficulty try to catch what they are singing or saying in the rap music. |

If they are honestly impressionable enough to want to go out and live the "ghetto fabulous" lifestyle, I have to wonder who the hell is teaching them to separate fantasy and reality.
Good rap, with emphasis on good thusly eliminating just about every piece of crap mainstream rap song out there, can be some of the most poignant music around. Remember, the roots of rap were that of getting a message out and trying to advocate for change. From Grandmaster Flash's The Message which revealed problems facing young black men of that time (and today) to a national audience, to the more vitriol message sent by NWA's F*ck Tha Police as a backlash to police brutality directed at African Americans, rap music can be a social sledgehammer. If one can listen to Tupac's Brenda's Got A Baby and not have their eyes opened just a bit by some of the problems facing the ghetto's today, I doubt whether empathy is in their blood. |

How old is he? I don't know, but from an early age, I was taught what was acceptable or not. Add a healthy dose of common sense, and I didn't go around screaming F**k The Police. Blaming it solely on a genre of music displays irresponsibility on the part of those who should be teaching him this and trying to instill some common sense in him.
Charles Barkley said this regarding sports, but this holds true for all of entertainment:
"I don't believe professional athletes should be role models. I believe parents should be role models.... It's not like it was when I was growing up. My mom and my grandmother told me how it was going to be. If I didn't like it, they said, "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out." Parents have to take better control."
It's nice if there's a socially conscious celebrity out there trying to do good with their fame, but don't count on it since those are few in numbers. |

| I think maybe art and music is supposed to change people in some way, it just might not be in the way originally intended. Especially a lot of that mainstream swill; it's not really supposed to do anything but make money and probably has the worst influence of all on people. |

| Some people actually dislike each other for "bad choice in music"... very unreasonable to me |

personaly, I don't listen to rap music, but the fact that i don't like this kind of music don'n mean that i hate everyone who does
people shouldn't dislike othets because of what they listen to
I just don't feel rap, em... maybe i'm too old, who knows
music influence the way you feel and may create good or bad feelings, and I think that depends on you only, what will it be |

I listen to all kinds of music; rap, rock, r&b, some country, orchestral....except I hate techno. Music definately changes ppl sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst. I know that whenever I listen to rock while driving, I become more wreckless and daring...

you can't tell me that you can understand everything in the anime songs that you listen to. Also a large majority of rappers rap slow unlike the few like Twista who "tongue twist" (really fast rapping). |
