let the stats do the talking. Although the Carrera GT might not win in straight line acceleration (although you cant really complain with a sub 4 second 0-100km/h time) it holds the title for fastest road legal car at Nurburgring. Track matters.
lol that koreankimichi guy is just typing that in all his posts.

A classic '70s 911S or RS(lol impossible!!!) would suit me perfectly. Style, performance, tail-happy handling, smooth Boxer 6, what more could you want? Amazing machines, I prefer them over modern 911's.

Which 911's? Turbo? GT2?
Haha, funny story about the old Turbo's. They weren't like the turbos we have now. They give a jolt of speed every once in a while even when you stop. So when you're at a red light and the Turbo jolts, you're going to move half way through the lights and POW... you're dead

911S 911"S" 911"RS"
By the way, I said "A classic '70s". There were no GT2's back then.
And another thing.
You said, "They give a jolt of speed every once in a while even when you stop".
Really? I'd like you to prove this phenomenon of getting a "jolt" of speed when I STOP, since when I do STOP I use the BRAKES and take my foot off the accelerator. The only "jolt" you feel from a turbo is when you get boost, and that requires the accelerator to be depressed.
"a jolt of speed every once in a while"
This is an impossible statement. Turbos do not spool up at random.

ahh the classic 911 turbo. it may be old but it will still cost a bundle. and gotta love those old whale tails.
and i to have never heard of a turbo giving boost durring braking(unless your foots still on the gas).
And now for my lesson on tubos.
you see turbos work off of the exhaust. so they only boost when they have sufficient exhaust pressure and flow to spool the turbine. this gives the boost. and the fact that the car has to first create exhaust and then produce enough of it to move the turbine is what creates lag in the boost pressure. the amount of lag depends on the size of the turbo that you have to spin. to lessen this lag you can use a blow off valve or a bypass valve which allows the turbo to keep spooling while the engine isint taking in all the air. (backed up pressure in the intake manifold slows the tubine)
and therefore most very high horsepowertuboed cars(like 900-1000bhp skilines supres ect.) only get their power in the high rpms(like say 5000-6000 rpms). so these cars power curves show only like 150-200bhp until they hit boost and then it jumps to the final bhp.

ahh the carrera gt is not the fastes street leagal car around the nurburgring. although it is very fast. the fastest car is the porshce 956, which is damn near a lemans car anyway. _________________ "ticking away the moments that make up a dull day. you fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way"

Thank you, Zbeeblebrox! A very accurate explanation of how a turbo works! Nice power curve explanation btw...
The 956! Such a rare and exotic car you bring into the discussion! Indeed, this Group C supercar could easily outpace/outrun the Carrera GT. On nearly all levels of performance it is superior.
Hmmm...just as a little fun fact here....I believe the 956 is the first car Porsche created with a monocoque instead of the previous tube chassis designs. Among a few other things, this contributed to one of Porsches most rigid chassis. That's a very good thing .
As proof of its performance, Porsche did not only dominate Le Mans for 10 years (1983-1988), but during that time also won the IMSA GTP (1985-1987) and World Sportscar Championship (1982-1986). In only 10 frickin' years the 956 won more than 100 prototype victories.
It would be very nice for someone to post a picture of this machine...
