i just got the jap version of this! and i gotta say, i love it and id recommand it to any dynasty warriors/samurai warriors fan out there

okay, as request ill post the info and more info on the game Wink

from the same talents behind onimusha, ninja gaiden, viewtiful joe and devil may cry comes sengoku basara (devil kings). basically the story and the setting is around the same time as the game samurai warriors (perhaps earlier on in the period) u can use characters such as yukimura sanada, oda nobunaga etc.

at first i when i played i thought its a really serious game since the game is based off historical account but soon realize that i was wrong..very wrong. i dont wana spoil the cut scenes yet but as u go on into the battle field and slay enemys to a certain point the enemy will start running away and fall on the floor and scream things like "i wanna go home!" or there are joke items that gives u special dialogue during the battle

anyways the gameplay isnt a big change from dynasty/samurai warriors the biggest change is the weapon system. for example: instead of obtaining new weapons and unlock higher level charge attacks u just simply get a stronger weapon and there s total of 6 weapons each char can get from level 1-99, so there isnt really a "ultimate weapon" u just have to get the highest level weapon for ex: ur first weapon can be better than ur second one if its higher level.

as for the battle system, they use levels(the highest being 20) and as u gain level u learn various skills to equip on to ur char. every char varies from 4-6 total skills and u can only bring 2 skills into the battlefield but u can switch skills during the battle kinda like how in devil may cry u can bring 2 guys and 2 types of weapon except in this case u can only switch skills. any more questions Very Happy

yea this game has some badass looking characters. Too bad that in devil kings they changed the atmosphere to be darker and they aren't going to have a historical backround Sad

and the names are going to be changed (and they're wack).

and we lose 6 characters i think? that sux too but we get more items, moves, and something else i think? anywayz it comes out the 10/11/05 so im still buying it cuz of the characters.

^^^ umm it is but it just won't have those things that i mentioned on top. and its actually in the store on 10/12/05 (tommorow, i went to gamespot today).

I've just play the english version, and the gameplay is just like the other sengoku series...but there's no long-range attacks anymore...
However, I'm kinda dissappointed with the character name...(Nobunaga=Devil King, Date Masamune=Azure Dragon....)
