Sakura from Naruto: Why is she a main character?

All this Sakura hating, how can you hate a girl named after a cherry tree? I read just ONE chapter of the lastest manga and it pretty obvious that Sakura it in for some serious character growth (she was saying to herself she wasnt gonna be useless anymore).

sakura is crap, all she does is stand there taking a beating saying "sasuke-kun". although i do admit that her fight between the three sound ninjas in the forest death was slightly cool, but the lead up to it seemed like it was going to go forever. other than a couple of fight scenes i was hoping that sakura would be crushed.

If you read the manga.
Sakura gets training from Tsunade and learns a few healing powers and gets super strength
so she really isn't useless, also In the manga she does have a fight, where that old woman was actually a pupptet user. but she didn't have any puppets or something to fight that Akasuki puppet guy so she uses Sakura as a puppet apparently

And she affects the plot too, maybe somewhere down the road, something will happen between naruto and sakura/sakura and sasuke

You know what? I think Sakura can give Gaara a run for his money. No joke either. She has the ability to kick some major ass these days.

naah.....gaara is still strong....even after the recent happenings in the manga....he should be....

anyway i think that sakura is there just to balance the team ....and also for the story....

Hm Sakura was made because they needed a female on Naruto's team I guess... she does contribute even if it is a little but I feel she doesn't make enough impact as a main character should.

I think its true that Gaara would win, remember when he fought rock lee.
rock lee unlocked so many gates, and Gaara still survived the big combo.
Sakura's problem is not her strength but her speed. Although Sakura is already pretty strong to fight Akatsuki, Gaara's skills are just too much for Sakura. Look at what happened to Kimimaro, maybe you'd think she'd punched through the sand tsuname thing Very Happy

Im not sure of this so Im only guessing Sakura would win if we talk about the Sakura that's not useless or should I say later in the manga

Since Gaara no longer has his 1 tailed demon it means that Gaara now suffers from a big power down, who knows if his sand shields still there now that his demon "protector" is gone. After he had it because of the demon, also if it's like Naruto he should have suffered from a powerdown in chakra as well. All in all Gaara shouldn't be as strong as he's been that's why I say Sakura should be able to beat him. Likw I said who know what Gaara can do now after he's lost his demon.

if u read the manga ull see that she is now actually usefull. i agree they prolly should have done it sooner but part of the story is the fact that she realizes she is useless and wants to get stronger. with her it also was a romantic tie between naruto and her and her and sasuke. i also agree with the fact that they probably are the new sanin because theyre being taught by the originals and all have many of the characteristics of the originals. at the beginning of the anime i hated her becasue she was such a waste but now shes pretty good so its all good now. give her a chance lol

never!!!!, that pink haired girl deserves to die. she may get cooler later on but that's just taking a crap character to a level of slightly less crap.
