Awful English Dubs

i watched animax and the dubs werent all that bad although I d prefer subtitles.I thought Samurai X and Cowboy Bebop the movie (dubbed )was okay

i thought inuyasha was dubed well everything else i would say sucked

you know i hear alot of people complain that dubbers don't put enough emotion into the character's voices, but i think most of the time it's exactly the opposite that's the problem

Alot fo times, the characters sound like hyper, overeager children in dubs and i think that's what makes it bad...it isnt that they dont show emotion but that they dont show the RIGHT kinds of emotion in dubs..

I thought naruto's dub, FMA's dub, Bebop's dub, and the dub for Irresponsibile Captain Tylor have all been good so far. I really didn't like one-piece or DBZ's dubs (especially the edits).

yea i really didn't like the naruto english dubs. naruto sounds kind of like the character from pokemon, ash, from way back when.

That's because Naruto says "believe it" every two seconds. Which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have such an obnoxious dub voice.

i think english-dubbed anime sucks when they even change the name of the character.. like come on.. who are u suppose to know who's who even if the name is wrong..

*laughs* Oh, the german dubs are actually worse than the us. simply because the german dubber take the US version and dub based on it *cringes* one of the resons why I don't wtch anime on tv

Some of my favorites just DON'T WORK with the english voices. Elfen Lied is my favorite, and the English voices just didn't have the strong emotions of the originals. Mayu and Nana often sounded like the same voice actress. The Full Metal Panics were also disappointing in English. Chidori is just not her usual fierce,ferocious, and fiery self with the English voice actress. Ho hum.
Others are enjoyable in English. I enjoyed Evangelion in English, except for the End. Asuka's english voice actress seemed to be going through the motions when she "woke up" in Eva 2 to fight the army and the white Evas. Otherwise, I thought Shinji's father sounded stronger in the English take. I liked the English versions of Ghost in the Shell and Nija Scroll too.
