if Cloud and Link were to do battle who would win?

For me, Link is the best, and he will win, because he has far more experience in one to one combat, like in Soul Calibur.(He fights again all kind of enemies, so he knows pretty much every style, and Cloud's big sword is just like Nightmare)But, I think Cloud will not be beaten so easily.

Well...I think it's pretty even....
link can shoot from afar, whereas cloud can use magic....but then again so can link.....but cloud could squash the little bugger....
hmm...lets roleplay for a bit here, shall we?

BATTLE START!
-Link throws his boomerang at cloud
-Cloud draws his unnessecarily huge sword accidentally deflecting the boomerang.
-Link draws his sword as well.
-Cloud and link engage in a fierce sword battle showing off their superior skills with their weapons.
-Cloud accidentally steps on link, and apologizes
-Link get's pissed off and puts on Fierce Deity Mask
-Cloud wonders how he got so tall, but is still so small.
-Link swings at cloud
-Cloud narrowly dodges the hit, but loses his armour.
-Link smirks as if he has just won.
-Cloud stunned by his near-death experience stares at link blankly.
-Link draws his bow and silver arrows. Realizing that cloud is now vulnerable to a ranged attack
-Cloud notices that link must be using a gamecube controller because it's taking forever for link to aim at him.
-Cloud takes advantage of the opportunity to use his summon materia, knights of the round table!
-Cloud has to wait for his ATB bar to fill up all the way
Sad

-Link decideds to forget the bow and pulls out his ice wand, freezes and instantly kills Cloud.
-LINK WON!
-But clouds sword falls on link, squashing him like a bug....or elf....

Well....it's hard to decide.....ah well. I still think that cloud would win...

cloud died FIRST, link died second, so Pac-man is the winner as he eats whats left of the corpses

Come on,Cloud's bound to win.Link's cool and all but I see Cloud as the better man.

Besides if you saw FF7 Advent children,you know that
Cloud kicked all the 3 guys butts ,Bahamut and even Sephiroth.He looked so good doing it too.

I don't think Cloud would win, after all Link may be young but he's been on so mutch trouble since his childhood to take care of that stupid princess that he's really experienced, now (common... so many games already) Twisted Evil

Besides he doesn't have to wait he can just hack and slash with his sword directly.

link could beat cloud as easy as 123. Nayru's Love would protect him from anything that cloud could possibly dish out, and Farore's Wind takes him anywhere so he could pop out behind cloud and stab him in the heart so...

Thats a real hard choice since i think both characters kick ass however i would have to say link cuz he will be able to avoid clouds attacks
