Sora = Ayu, apparently. Unconfirmed though.
Anyway, this show continues to impress me by staying interesting even though we still have no idea what's going on... Hopefully we will by the end of the series though. |

After watching ep 14, this show is starting to turn into the fugitive for me. They keep running from the long arms of the GPO.
Hope at some point they take the fight to the GPO and explain more about the Rynax, Kurau and Christmas.

Ep 18:
Moves the story forward in ways that took me by surprise. A very good episode.
Did not see coming a number of things that happen in this episode:
- Inspector Wong's disappearance.
- What Wong said about Ayaka's family being murdered.
- Ayaka and Kurau working together.
Can't wait for the next episode! |

This show started very well but it quickly proved to be the usual crap that Bones produces (very much like RahXephon actually). Ridiculous dialogue, empty bland characters, forced emotionally manipulative drama - it has it all. It's the kind of shallow show that pretends to be mature and deep but is really a big cheesy nothing. Whoever wrote the scenario is one of those major losers who have no talent or ideas of their own so they use any trendy story and soap device they can think of. And to think that I had high hopes for this...
Sample dialogue:
"Christmasu."
"Kurau! Kurau! Kurau!"
"Hey! What can you see?"
"Kurau!"
"Christmasu."
"Kurau! Kurau!"
(this kind of ridiculous exchange must be taking up half of all the dialogue in the show... lame)

I take (most of) my words back. The second half of the show was surprisingly decent despite some minor annoyances (like Kurau's father, what a whimpering dumbass). In the end it didn't quite turn into the pretentious corny RahXephon-like bullshit it seemed to be until episodes 14-15. The conclusion was good too, even though I'd rather have cut out much of the stuff in the epilogue, things got a bit diluted. Anyway, I think that Kurau would have been a great show if it had a smaller episode count and more concise and mature writing. As it is it's fair, better than most other stuff by Bones.
Btw a big thumbs up for the absence of the mandatory love story, I'm so tired of having one in every single show. _________________ Is that the best you can do, you pansies? |
