try using GIMP. it's almost as powerful as Adobe Photoshop 7 (some would even debate that GIMP is better) and it's free.

pixel is just one dot it stand for pix (which is a shorthand for picture) element
in a way it is different with megapixel

if you want to see what is pixel, use photoshop to zoom any picture until what you see is dots of color, that is pixel

when you are talking about megapixel, you are talking about the area of pixel that build the picture
when we talk about a picture resolution is 800x600 this means we have 800 pixel for horizontal view and 600 pixel in vertical view
thus, 800x600=480,000pixel square or often get said as 480 kpixel/.5 Mpixel ,get the general idea?
now when we are talking about a digicam saying about the standar resolution 2048 × 1536 = 3,145,728 > often said 3.1 Mpixel

ONLY if you are profesional photographer then it is necessary to get higher that 3.1 Mpixel(some even go as high as 7 Mpixel)
consider this as comparison 4 Mpixel picture look twice better compare to 1Mpixel . so to double the appearance you need to quadruple the Mpixel.

but if you just pay higher sum of money for 6 Mpixel , which is just double for 3 Mpixel, you just get double the Mpixel which is equivalent to 40% increase of picture quality which doesn't easily get detected by eye.... so make your choice ^^

You know those scrolling bars on news channels?
RSS is just that for internet sites. Content can be anything: new articles, new bittorrent links or whatever. Click on what interests you and you get the whole article. You need a small program to do that though.
