If you are using Windows XP, it must not be "command". It should be "cmd" when you want to go into the prompt.
Actually both are correct. I did some searching and it looks like it can be some kind of a worm. poiurewqfdsa, maybe something from here will help you (or maybe not ). And BTW Jsy3k, wasn't suggestion to reinstall Windows a bit drastic?
Well, one whole clean up once in a while is good sometimes to clean up viruses, worms, etc. And also at first, I thought it is some kind of corrupted file, so better clean up sometimes so that can have fresh start and fresh new files. Well, might to extreme sometimes, though, but it is the best solution for mass cleaning _________________ Innocent Tranquility

Yeah...re-formatting can be your best and worst friend. I already re-formatted mine about 8 times already...since it was screwed up when the firewall was turned off...I transfered all my files to a CD...good thing there was only 2 gigs of file to transfer. If all else fails...re-format it!
that way you can have a fresh start...and keep you firewalls up! _________________ PS3 Trophies

oh jeez, it's a worm? that's gonna take a while since i have about 15 gig of stuff to move.
What do you mean? Are you thinking of reformatting? Well, that's ok but if it's only for this worm there can be easier way of getting rid of it...

do i have to do the port forwarding thingy to other computers sharing the same network but does not have bittorrent?
It only makes sense for computer using BT.
i tried downloading their recommended antispyware programs or virus scans etc. but none of them found the alcan worm.
also, now that i have finally my port forwarding set up (thanx to Jsy3k and matti123 ) i have been noticing that my dl speed fluctuates. sometimes it will go up to 31 but it mostly remains at around 3. is this right?

Then I am not so sure what could be the problem..... Try to play around with the port. If the last setting seems to make it not working, try to change it back to normal ones and try again whether you can surf or download normally without any problems. _________________ Innocent Tranquility

*hmm i would recommend tuneup 2004 (www.download.com) for correcting worm ,
I have 5 different anti virus :
AVG, Avast, Microsoft anti spyware, Spyware Doctor, and Mc affee / Norton (which only Avast/ AVG is active )
and those programs don't detect any worm, but tune up pretty much clean everything. hope it's help...
*For Dr.... really sorry, take me so long to reply >.<......
My MSN messenger for somewhat reason correct its error.. ( I did nothing and now it's working), and then i update my AIM messenger and Yes!! I get the exact same errorr >.< ....(connection lost )
I check to AIM website and they say that's probably cause by my ISP don't recognize this new program so keep disconnecting it
(which i still don't quite understand)
Any help (except for waiting of course hehehehe)?
"Q: What should I do when I lose my connection to the server and AIM displays the message, "Internet Connection Lost-check connection?"
A: This is probably just a temporary communication problem between your modem and your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Your ISP is able to keep its connection, but AIM gets disconnected. (In many cases, you won't see noticeable symptoms in your other Internet applications, such as your Web browser, but AIM requires a constant uninterrupted connection.) You should sign on to AIM again. If you are frequently disconnected, it may help to change the access number you use to connect to your ISP."

*Doc. Can you post about how to experiment with format for music ? What I mean is like which program create these extension (Mp3, ogg, mpeg. mpg, wma, real, etc) and how to convert these extension (like from ogg to Mp3) and what program is used?

I just want for your opinion dr. Jsy3k...=p
Should I continue my subscription for Norton's personal firewall or just deny it and just use my another active firewall Zone Alarm?

The AIM problem maybe also due to firewall which can block the port used for IM. Try to use prt forwarding for the IM and see whether it will be connected.
For format of music, I ahve literally no idea how to use ogg yet since I have a lot of job to do. For conversion, I have Creative Converter Software when I bought my Creative MP3 player, but it can convert to a certain format only. You can also use Winamp Pro to convert to some other music format. Extension wise is very much dependant on your software, so I am not so sure too.

It is very much dependant on you. Since I usually turn off any firewall in my PC, I don't usually use any firewall for my PC. I just turn on my firewall on my router and it will do the job for me. If you asked for my opinion, if you want to spend extra bucks, then go for Norton, if not, just use Zone Alarm. _________________ Innocent Tranquility

One thing about port forwarding: The port is reserved for your computer, so if you use the port, other computer are not allowed to access the port and that explains the reason why it can't connect. Try to port forward for the other computers too. _________________ Innocent Tranquility
